In a move that will surely help increase their subscriber base, Sirius Satellite Radio issued a press release today stating that Sirius will be available as a factory-installed option on the 2006 BMW 3-Series starting in the Summer of 2005.
Available for an MSRP of $595, the factory-installed option includes a one-year pre-paid subscription to the service.
Currently available as a factory-installed option on the 2005 5-Series, 6-Series and 7-Series models; Sirius Satellite Radio is only available as a dealer-installed option on the remaining BMW model lineup.

I'd like to know what people think of the audio quality coming from Sirius Satellite Radio in thier BMW 2006 3 Series. I've owned my car for just 4 weeks and the audio quality from Sirius is horrible. Strings and cymbels sound smeared. The best way to describe the audio quality is that it sounds a lot like internet radio streaming at about 32 kbps. There is no dymanic range. I talked to my dealer and the dealer tells me that's how Sirius sounds. How can BMW offer such an inferior product for sale at $595.00? I'm just trying to find out if it's the way Sirius tranmits their digital signal or if the design of the module BMW uses in their radios is flawed. FM, CD's and even my iPod sound a 1,000 times better than Sirius.
huh, i know someone with a mercedes benz..and they got sirius in it as part of the package , and it sounds perfect...like if you were listening to a cd. so, i dont know what your talking about.
I have the Sirius in the 2007 3 series and it sounds great!! I think you may have a defective part
