Following the combining of Sirius and XM channels, many parents were upset over the loss of Sirius Kids Stuff, which targeted a pre-K audience, in lieu of the Kids Place Live channel. Well, Kids Stuff is returning to the channel in the form of a 3-hour daily show.
While Kids Place Live is targeted to children under the age of 10, the pre-kindergarten crowd felt a bit left out, and there was a number of parents who were upset about the change. So Sirius XM Radio Inc. has responded with the upcoming debut of the "Kids Stuff" show.
The launch will be marked with an exclusive performance from fan-favorite children's recording artist Laurie Berkner (pictured). Berkner will be joined by an audience of Kids Place Live families to perform songs from her new album Rocketship Run.
"Kids Stuff" will premiere on Wednesday, December 24th, and will air Monday through Friday at 12pm ET on Kids Place Live (Sirius and XM channel 116).

Glad to see Uncle Paul got a gig.
Orbicast.
Still this is not enough. We listened to Kids Stuff as much as any other music channel. The Kids Place Live has way to much talk, DJ crap in it. Wo ho, a Kid Stuff show.. I will remember to throw the kids in the Car everyday at perfectly between 12:00 noon to 3:00. Wake up Sirius, Kids Stuff is dead to us.
BTLS will be switching to this channel.
I thought this was a new show on OutQ ;)
But that guy looks like Keith Olberman.
i miss the old classic cartoon theme music they played at night on kids stuff.
Hopefully it won't be long before they come to their senses and realize Kenny Curtis isn't funny and Mindy is annoying. The only thing we ever really loved on the old xmkids were the stories they played on talespinners.
That guy looks creepy.. ooooohh... ahhhh...
Yeah...a hlaf assed attempt here. If they aren't going to go all of the way don't bother. This is a waste of time.
As always, the lunatic is on the grass.
What about those of us who listened to Kids Stuff in the car with our kids in the morning and evening. Personally, 9-12 (pacific) does nothing to make up for the fact that we lost a great channel.
I agree TOTALLY. We used to listen to Kid's Stuff all the time, now my kids don't even ask for the channel. It will definitely factor in to not renewing our Sirius subscription.
Our radio was on kids stuff the whole time were in the car. I was terribly disappointed in the switch to Kids place live. They use way too much DJ talk and the playlist is not very good. They are trying to appeal to a very broad interest group with one channel. They say the target audience is kids under 10, but kids in the 5-10 year range will most likely prefer radio disney with Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, etc. Now that christmas music is gone, I will be cancelling my subscription over this.
I agree this isn't enough. What good is the time frame when the children are in daycare/preschool? Plus, what about the weekends? Do the children stop being of preschool age during this time frame and grow up for those two days? This change is useless, why couldn't they have given the XM station its own digital number. Since the stations combined I don't even bother to turn on Sirius anymore because my son cries when he doesn't hear the songs he's use to. It seems Sirius did more to ease the transition for XM subscribers and kicked their loyal Sirius customers to the curb!
My children are outraged that Kid's Stuff is no more. Thank you Sirius for placating me with a whopping 3 hour window of my children's favorite station -- how are they supposed to listen to it with my while I am at work and they are in daycare? Thank you! If Sirius will let down their young fan base, they will have no future. Especially when we parents cancel our subscriptions. Sirius, don't forget, we all have iPods and cd's too. Either bring back Kid's Stuff or goodbye.
Parents who miss Kid's Stuff take a look at the blog I just started for people just like us.

I can't agree more with the comments that have been posted. My kids used to ask for kids stuff all of the time and now are sad that there is no longer anything to listen too. The kids place live channel is atrocious. Totally Mindy totally stinks, the music is awful and my kids could care less about the interviews and boring concert series that the new channel offers. Sirius seriously struck out with this one. Wake up and dump kids place live, it stinks!
I miss the old Kidstuff more than anyone. My kids are 4 and 7 and they cried when Kidstuff went off the air. So, I sent Kidstuff and email and told them I was canceling my subscription because Kidstuff was gone. I took the money I saved from the subscription cancel, and made a list of all the old songs we could remember from Kidstuff. I downloaded them from Rhapsody for $1.00 each (about 170 songs) and then bought a MP3 FM modulator online ($30.00) for my car. I put all the songs on a 4GB flash drive that I had. I plugged that into the FM modulator and now we can listen to almost all our old songs we used to have. I have sent multiple emails to Sirius that if they ever bring the old Kidstuff back, I'll renew my subscription asap.
KPL is awful. Bottom line.
My free subscription runs out in March, and I won't be renewing. My 1 1/2 yr old loved listening on the way to and from daycare in the morning. He's not home from noon-3 to listen since I'm a working mom. Now he gets bored and upset about Kenny Curtis (which will be fine for him when he gets older I'm sure, but is just not age-appropriate for him). The afternoon is a little better, but listening to Mindy talk isn't the same as dancing to 95% music. And the Radio Disney type songs just aren't his thing. Isn't there already a Kids station for things like High School musical songs?? Right now he just wants to hear upbeat music to carseat dance to. I am also going to be creating a mix CD with all the old songs so that we will once again have something to listen to in the morning. If anyone has a list of some of the songs that you listened to on Kidstuff, please send it along. I've been racking my brain trying to remember them. :)
Like Mike Liner said, if Kids Stuff comes back as a separate station, with toddler programming available all day long, I will then consider re-subscribing.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who is disappointed by the switch! My kids and I LOVED the old format on Sirius! Our car radio rarely left 116. . .until now. I feel like we gave the new station a fair trial period. However, we're now popping in our favorite CDs (from artists we were exposed to by listening to our favorite station) and doing without all of the DJ chatter, bad jokes, phone calls, and questionable songs. We miss Kids Stuff, and as a result won't be renewing our subscription.
disagree completely. my son and i love animal farm.
I used to listen to kids stuff all the time! i cant believe they took it off. I'm searching for some of their songs online... can anyone help me out with some good songs and/or artists??? PLEASE???
OMG!!! Really people! Kids Place Live is awesome! Sure there is talking but someone has to talk to these kids because obviously none of you are! My children love the show and hated the changes that some of this Kids stuff nonsence has replaced. You all really need to have a more open mind because the kids will pick up on your reluctance to change! Open your ears and minds to changes, those of us who remember kids place before the changes have come to accept the kids stuff too.
