Introducing the brand spankin' new handlebar mounted Road TechT AL20 XM Satellite Radio - the first portable XM unit designed exclusively for many 1996 and later model Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Sure, there are motorcycle kits out there to strap a plug-and-play radio to your hog, but never a unit meant specifically for bikes.
This baby is designed from the ground up with the rider in mind.
The Road Tech AL20 XM Satellite Radio is waterproof, touts a crystal clear LCD screen with adjustable backlighting and the PAD data is meant to be very easy to read. The large backlit buttons also ensure that riding gloves don't become an obstacle to changing channels.
As a special benefit to seasonal riders, the radio kit comes with an automobile mounting bracket. With the additional purchase of an automobile kit from XM, the Radio Tech AL20 can easily be transferred to a four-wheel "ride" during winter.
Each Road Tech AL20 XM Satellite Radio will include three months of complimentary XM service and is available through Harley-Davidson Parts and Accessories for an MSRP of $249.95.
Thanks cb!

So lets see here Sirius is continuing their alliance with Microsoft and incorporating Wi-fi in their technology.
XM is making radios for motorcycles?!??
WTF, how are you supposed to listen to a radio on a motorcycle? Did they ever think about helmet laws? It would be extremely dangerous to listen with earphones. Also a Harley makes so much noise how are you supposed to hear on those speakers.
XM screws up again. Complete idiots over there I swear to god.
Nice.....but for $250?
Wonder how much is going to Harley out of that and not to XM.
"Joe Blow" obviously doesn't ride. Riders have the options of either;
1. Speakers on the fairing. or 2. Headphones built into the helmet.
I can vouch for both methods working effectively. While I am not a Harley rider, I can assure you that Harley has a strong base that has the money to spend. If Sirius made the same deal I'm sure you would be pointing out their genius.
Hmmm.. wonder if it works in the rain...

You would have a good point if you threw out the fact that XM already has WiFi technology...we are still waiting for Sirius..
After reading your post "History Guy"... Do you see Honda maybe thinking about something similar for their line of bikes for XM? or is that demographic not like Harley's?
"ahigee", Yes I am quite sure that other motorcycle manufacturers will be providing more options that include SATRAD. In fact, there is a thriving market for aftermarket add-ons that allows for safe and secure mounting of both Sirius and XM radios. This is another case of industry meeting a demand that was created by innovative individual consumers. At this year's Americade and Laconia I saw almost every bike type with a SATRAD attached.
Also, what I meant about Harley riders is that Harley tends to charge too much, IMHO, for their parts and the $250.00 price tag is in line with that opinion. Ride safe.
I am looking for xm direct reciver for my Harman/Kardon radio with out having to go to HD and getting rip off.

Must have the Harley logo on it... After all it must match your underwear, condom, booze and beef jerky. (no I'm not kidding)
I am wondering if this will fit my 97 Valkyrie? Anyone know?
