New Trademark: Willie's Place
Interesting... looks like Mr. Willie Nelson may have a new satellite radio program in the works. Aside from talking about his BioWillie biodiesel stations, my guess would be that this will feature concerts from his Willie's Place Theater.
Willie's Place Theater is a sort of full service, year-round, live music venue; reminiscent of a Branson, Missouri Opry house, boasting an 80ft stage and an intimate 850 seats. It's meant specifically for truckers - which makes broadcasts from it perfect for satellite radio. Question is... which one?
UPDATE: Interesting. The Attorney of Record is Robert A. Rosenbloum... the same Attorney of Record for the Radio Margaritaville filing. Me thinks this'll be a new SIRIUS show.
Thanks Matt!
UPDATE 2: Looks like Willie Nelson is going to XM afterall.

He was an XM pitch man in the beginning, but Sirius has made a big country push.
Interesting . . .

I'm guessing it's XM, because I remember reading somewhere (think it was on Lee Abrams' blog) that he pops in to XM studios every so often to take over the country station for a show...

It could go either way. Sirius has been positioning itself as somewhat of a good-ol-boy-friendly network lately, so XM might want to counter that with Willie. Willie's also friendly with Stern, though I don't think that would have much to do with which one he signs on to. Either way, I hope he comes to Sirius because I'd like to hear it.

Hanks Place
Franks Place
WILLIE'S PLACE
Anyone notice a pattern here?

I can almost guarantee that it's on XM. I heard a promo for a show on Hank's Place the other day and the pad data actually said "Willie's Place". I thought someone was joking around.
And Sirius only signs third rate talent. Willie Nelson is too good for them.

Unfortunately, XM has never used Rosenbloum to file a patent before. Looks bad for XM.

If it *is* Sirius, they're ripping off the 'So and So's Place' idea from XM..
(hoo hoo)

Seems to be a consumer study in play here. This PR is too much of a coincidence.>>

Branson area radio disc jockey Bob Mitchell will host ‘Branson Coast to Coast,’ a new weekly program to air on Sirius Satellite Radio.
The three-hour broadcast will air on Sundays from 11a.m. to 2 p.m., beginning July 2, on Sirius, country hits channel 61, according to a release from Sirius offcials.
Mitchell says he will welcome guests each week on the program, including such major country music artists as Pam Tillis, Ronnie Milsap, the Oak Ridge Boys and many more who perform in Branson regularly.
Mitchell was inducted into the Country Radio Broadcasters’ Country Music Disc Jockey Hall of Fame last year.
He worked for KHOZ-FM from 1993 to 2005. Prior to that, he was a disc jockey for a country station in San Bernardino, Calif., for 25 years.
