Opie and Anthony Return

XM Satellite Radio has sent out an email to subscribers, as well as posted a message on their website, about the return of the Opie & Anthony show on XM, starting tomorrow.
During Opie and Anthony's suspension, they continued broadcasting live on CBS Radio - something that the XM Nation didn't get to hear. Starting tomorrow, XM will begin broading a compiled "Best of" for O&A's CBS shows from the last few weeks.
Starting on Monday, June 11th through early morning Friday, June 15th, XM air these “Best of” O&A CBS shows at multiple times throughout the day. Ron and Fez also air live, and with encores broadcast throughout the day as well.
The on Friday, June 15th at 6am ET, the Opie and Anthony show will return live to XM, and the regular schedule will resume.
For any fans pests that canceled their subscriptions as a result of the suspension, XM will waive the reactivation fee (by calling 1-800-XMRADIO) through June 30th.
Check out this week's revised schedule for The Virus (ch 202), after the jump...

I loved that XM is going to play the CBS stuff we missed... maybe the wounds are healing?
Welcome back boys.

Good on XM for waiving the reactivation fee - now let them say whatever they want when they come back live...

welcome back boys....hopefully we can all move on and get back to some entertaining radio.

"O&A Fired!"
Good one, Wackbag.

Are these guys funny? They look funny.

Those idiot that smashed their radios are looking pretty stupid right about now. What an embarrassment these people are. "Pests" have to be the stupidest people in the world. I know O&A fans and they're smart and rational, but pests are just plain retarded. Look at their smashing videos on youtube, they're hillarious!

Figures that the waive the reactivation fee if you do it BEFORE the end of the quarter so their numbers don't take as big of a hit. The truth is we'll never know how many actually cancelled because most will be back before the end of the quarter.

i heard this a little while ago on some message board that they would be back on early. im glad xm is doing the smart thing after all this, hopefully they won't edit out all the guests that happened to mention it during their interviews almost everyone did. welcome back b-b-b-boys.

Well, I didn't smash my Pioneer Inno, its just simply deactivated and collecting dust after the suspension.
If XM ever wants to convince me to resubscribe, They should take O&A/R&F and all of the music channels off of DirecTV, where I will be freeloading as a listener until circumstances warrant.
And a note to all the pests. Instead of resubscribing to XM, subscribe to DirecTV if you're able to do so. You can still hear O&A and all of XM's music channels without giving XM another dollar.

It is noteworthy that XM is replaying the supertame material of the last 3 weeks. I am convinced that XM did the suspension to try to protect the merger, and that they brought OA, but on very diffeent terms. When they were pulled off the air, all of their archives on Audible were also removed, so that right wing cranks wouldn't mine the for things equal to or worse than "Homeless Charlie". (for example, the continuing bit of what Jim Norton would do to "A'' The Way Mae" comes to mind]. I think R&F got dialed back in the last three weeks as well, so the claim of "uncensored" seems a bit dishonest.

O&A Fans - Get over yourselves. Reactivate or stop complaining. Cutting off your nose to spite your face is a waste of time. If you want O&A, reactivate. Your choice. Expecting XM to buy you back is silly.

>>> And a note to all the pests. Instead of resubscribing to XM, subscribe to DirecTV if you're able to do so. You can still hear O&A and all of XM's music channels without giving XM another dollar.
Don't look now, but XM will receive money from it, no matter how you get O&A.

Haha, all those idiots that smashed their radios. You sent them a message that's for sure......NOT.
Posted by: Ryan ? | June 10, 2007 11:04 PM
If someone smashes an old radio they no longer use to make a statement is it really so stupid? XM has been sending out offers for nice, new, free radio's to the O&A fans. Maybe smashing them wasn't such a bad move. I got a brand new Roadie XT plus a free month of service and I didn't smash anything.

>>Haha, all those idiots that smashed their radios. You sent them a message that's for sure......NOT. >>
And you're sure of this how?
How do you know that the original plan wasn't to simply let them go after the 30 days, and the number of cancellations and HUGE show of support didn't sway that plan?
Don't assume anything....
Posted by: Pete ? | June 10, 2007 11:25 PM
O.o New Orbitcast!
Im glad they are coming back. And yeah, good job Wackbag. I bet that sticky is still there.......... Over on FBA people are negative about XM but not many fell for the false rumor.

ZERO. POINT. ZERO.
Posted by: ryan | June 11, 2007 8:55 AM
Wackbag was right. They were going to be fired....the huge outpour of support from the fans helped O and A keep their job. Smashing radios sent a message. If your pelican king Stern was in the same situation, you would have smashed yours too, zombies.

>>How do you know that the original plan wasn't to simply let them go after the 30 days, and the number of cancellations and HUGE show of support didn't sway that plan?
I had hoped that they would let these two go. I'm a little disappointed that they are coming back.
Let me ask you a question. How do you know that there were a number of cancellations and that there was a "HUGE" show of support? Because a few people smashed some radios? Because some people canceled?
I would venture to day that most of the O&A fans that canceled will not resubscribe before the end of June. XM will give you free activation any time of the day or night. I would say that the numbers will show no real change in churn. Just a guess.

It took 17 posts before a zombie came back with a "zero point zero" post... I think you guys are making progress!! Howie must be live today... amazing.

I'm certainly looking forward to the return of Homeless Charlie this Friday!
Well how about next week?
It's still an XL channel, right?

Hey, stop giving zombies a bad name!

I was hoping they would stick those assholes (or as they spell it pests) with an activation fee.
Posted by: IdRatherBeSkiing | June 11, 2007 12:31 PM
xzi, if you want to look at a real brainwashed zombie, look at Frank the Frowner's post. You can't get more stupid than that! Nobody at XM said they would be fired. Ryan from Orbitcast said there was no news they would be fired. You idiots that broke your radios made no difference, O&A are coming back in a month to the day of the suspension, the way they intended it. XM will make more money when those idiots have to buy a new unit. Pests lose again because they always lose in the end! Ha ha!
Posted by: Jorge ? | June 11, 2007 12:31 PM
Ugh. Bring back Ron & Fez. These "best-of"s are fucking garbage. The naked superman bit was gayer than any "mantown" bit they have ever bashed.
The CBS show is AWFUL! I can't listen to this crap until they are back on live.
Posted by: MeatFarley ? | June 11, 2007 12:40 PM
The Pests have won. O&A were fired but we got them nack through the XM boycott, writing the sponsors, petitioning the FCC to stop the merger and picketing the shareholders meeting. I am GLAD I ended my sub. It was this kind of pressure that made XM relent
The CBS replay thing is both to get people back on board for O&A and to save us from endless replays of Ron & Fez
We can make a difference. If this had been Howard Stern, I am sure his fans would have done the same thing.
Both of them

>> You can't get more stupid than that! Nobody at XM said they would be fired. >>
The admin at wackbag.com has relayed direct messages from the show before, so one has to assume he has some contact with the personalities on the air. If he has it on good authority that O&A were to be fired, I would tend to believe him more so than *not*.
Do your homework.
Posted by: Pete ? | June 11, 2007 2:00 PM
you don't get it do you? zagman was only relayed what he was told to relay. the firing rumor was just used to incite the pests.
IT WAS A PR STUNT BY OPIE. he loves to fuck with the pests. you all just followed along like perfect little zombies.

Hey Jorge,
Unlike your hero Stern who isolates himself from his fans and anything honest, beleive it or not, O and A interact with their fans and (get ready)... appreciate them in a way Stern hasn't done probably since the eighties.
From having listened to O and A since they first came to XM, I would tend to believe someone from Wackbag stating that they were all but fired. They are pretty much in the know as far as what goes on behind the scenes.
You however tend to believe an aging shhhhhhhhhock jock who has lied to his fans for years. Who's the zombie?
You stated that XM would make more money off of newly purchased receivers. I might be wrong, but wouldn't the company who manufactured the recievers generate the profit? But what the hell do I know...I'm just a dumbass O and A fan listening to a 0.0 station.
Go suck your master's hog, boy.

I'm afraid I don't - why don't you explain exactly what you meant by that statement.
Posted by: Pete ? | June 11, 2007 4:25 PM
I already explained it Pete but I'll clarify for your cancer diseased ridden brain. Zagman, NFP, Dougout Doug, etc were all told the FAKE info about O&A being fired by those "in the know" which we all know was Elmo.
The baggers didnt prevent O&A from being fired. They were never going to be fired. IT WAS ALL A PUBLICITY STUNT.
Get it now?
Posted by: wbl | June 11, 2007 4:45 PM
If the amount of O@A listeners that complained and canceled was insignificant xm would not have sent out the email to customers and former customers to let them know that o@a replays were going to start this week, and that reactivation would be waived. If you smashed your radio (which was dumb for people to do) xm is offering a free roady2.
Posted by: plum | June 11, 2007 5:29 PM
How can anyone argue whether or not they would be fired? were they fired? No, so shut the fuck up. A rumor is just a rumor. Getting all hell bent on some wackbag shit. fanboys
Posted by: FaFaFluFly ? | June 11, 2007 6:54 PM
Hey Frankie Fuckhead...enjoy listening to the best Howard Stern rip off show...the 0.0 show, now doing yet another Howard original bit sending someone's dad to the Bunny Ranch to get laid...got an original idea??
0.0 sure don't!
No wonder why 0.0 had to go to CBS when no one was listening to them on XM..if it wasn't for XM's 2 year head start on Sirius and their smart marketing srategy with car companies( 80% of the car market at one time)your boys would be fucked.

Posted by: d.goezinya ? | June 12, 2007 10:57 AM
What have Greg and Tony done to revolutionize radio besides re-hash bits that Stern used on the radio years ago?
Say what you want about Stern 'zombies' but at least we're not stupid enough to smash radios based on false rumors.
There's no way 0.0 will broadcast on CBS when their contract comes up for renewal in August. 0.0 will spin it like "we can't work for a company that fired Imus" and all the dumb pests will buy it. Keep drinking that brainwash kool-aid!

Gosh, you have it all figured out, don't you?
Excellent work. Go report back to Howie and tell him all of us O&A fans believe you 100%, and we're all signing up for Sirius tomorrow to listen to the one true radio god that is Stern.
After that, I'm having the tooth fairy over for lunch.

First of all, stop pretending to be Ant.
A publicity stunt? A great idea. But i would put hard earned cash that XM doesnt jump on the opportunity to let it be known that O&A are on XM, again. After the press, it would be too smart for XM's Marketing team.

IT WAS ALL A PUBLICITY STUNT.
Slamming your dick in a desk drawer and pretending that you meant to do it is not a publicity stunt.
It's trying to save face after doing something completely stupid irrational, and then getting called on it.

Somehow in their world 5,000 cancelled subscriptions = 500,000 canceled subscriptions...we always knew that next to no one listens to those Howard Stern clones.
