Negotiations to keep Opie & Anthony on satellite radio could be one step closer, but have yet to be officially solidified with just over 7 days left to make a decision.
Opie & Anthony met with the Sirius XM Radio Inc. executives yesterday, according to FMQB. The radio duo also met with Scott Greenstein back in early August, but - obviously - no deal has been publicly announced.
The Virus (ch 202) channel has appeared as part of the "Best Of" lineup, giving a glimmer of hope to fans, but Opie & Anthony were not specifically named as part of the package. Let's see if that changes over the next week.

AWESOME!
Glad to hear things are progressing.
And now 55 comments of Sterns vs. O&A fans.
Ready?
GO!
The fact that Opie and Anthony are re-signing with XM proves that they're failing.
Wait, what? ;)
I love how Mel is standing in front of the XM logo in the picture. Make sure we see the doggy!
Well I think that Howard vs. O&A will...Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I like their show.. and if they aren't signed it will mean I will only have fifty channels and virus won't be one of them..
if they don't resign O&A, we should all send them a message by cancelling our XM subs and getting Sirius instea...oh, right.
Ron & Fez 12-3!!!
Good. Now maybe the XM side will get more than an hour-long show each day.
Is it just my computer or is this site causing many words to be cut off at the end of each line and in other areas having words overlap?
@Steve: can you tell me what browser you're using? What kind of overlap/cutoff do you mean?
I was doing some tinkering recently and may have screwed up something.
I'm seeing the overlap too. (IE)
Looks like the right side is cut off by the adverts.
using IE 7
in the articles the line runs 'under' the ads to the right
seems like it's part of the main blog and not so much here where we make comments
no big deal just didn't know if it was something you noticed on your end
Aw hell.
It's all messed up in IE. damnit, I'll work on this... sorry all
Ryan,
I noticed it too. Even the articles are cutting off the right side of the text.
Since w/o O&A the Virus would have nothing but Ron & Fez I'd take the fact that it's a "best of" channel to mean the boys aren't going anywhere. Couple of failures and an unfunny comic...
bye bye bubba
PFreak is a a failure and unfunny as well
Well at least we don't have to hear about the phoney "oh no, their scary talent won't be renewed" horseshit. You all knew they'd be renewed, so stop with the "O&A are so persecuted" garbage.
When is their contract with CBS up? Sirius XM may have to buy the rest of it out if they don't want to share content.
I hope they don't say "Your mom's box" in a week!
@ PeeFreak,
Maybe so but at least I didn't go to the trouble of registering an onscreen name that's a lame goof on the original just to post. BTW, very clever with the "Pee", that's certainly not what the "P" stood for in the 1st place. Douche.
I thought XM was cutting channels with loyal but limited fan bases.
No, I'm not a Stern fan, I just want XM to BRING BACK FUNGUS!

Same here. Works at work on IE6 but at home screws up with IE7.
Does it look fixed now (except for the "All thing satellite radio" header)? I'm testing in IE7 right now and we're almost good again.
I really appreciate everyone's patience.
SiriusXM has no money to pay talent or even the talentless. O&A would be better of to jump off this sinking ship before it goes down for good.
@Ryan,
Nope, it's been FUBAR for days...
Still looks screwy to me. No change.
Still is messed up here
Everyone type short sentences
so I can read them . . . ;-)
Try clearing your cache and refreshing.
Try clearing your cache and refreshing.
Still wonky after that. Fine on IE6 not IE7.
Fuck O & A, sign Bubba!
Why do people use IE?
I wonder how much of bitch fit Stern is having on Mel. I mean I can totally see him bitchin' and moanin'about time slot/channel placement and don't forget payplan. Just wait until O&A get they're own channel on Sirius and broadcast in the same time slot. Howards gonna lose it
Please. WHy would Mel waste money on these no talent hacks? They don't generate any income or drive for people to want to listen to satellite.
If you think that's not true take a look at their ratings on regular radio. How do they compare to Stern when he was on?
It would be a foolish investment and I don't think Mel will part with much money. Perhaps dopey and dorothy can pay Sirius to be on. That would make more sense.
Losers!

Loser!
I imagine the true fans are already XM listeners,
and do not listen to them on regular radio.
This may be why the regular radio ratings
are useless for Mel.
You do not know their #'s on XM.
If you value Mel so much,
just sit back and let him decide.
Bubba's a can't !
Bubba's a can't !
dopey n dorothy are hacks. they're ratings suck for a reason - they suck. as for them coming to sirius, i wouldn't hold my breath and i'm sure they won't take any listeners from Stern.
d n d don't bring anything to the table except a bad show. it's been widely discussed that dopey n dorothy are not responsible for any major sales increases for satellite. 35k listeners at most - i think Oprah brought in more people. Stern's Rectal Itch show had a higher listernship. smelly, itchy cracks are more entertaining than d n a.
frunkiss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
