While Opie & Anthony today officially made the move from delayed afternoon broadcasts to live morning-drive airings in Cleveland, word has come in that the dynamic duo is about to sign a new deal.
According to FMQB, Opie & Anthony are on the verge of inking a new deal that will keep them on both XM Satellite Radio as well as on regular radio stations run by CBS Radio and Citadel Broadcasting.
This would, of course, quickly dispel the rumor that Booker is taking over the b-b-boys slot at K-Rock once their CBS contract expires.

That's funny, I'm holding the Fall Book in my hand for Cleveland... and the facts don't support your statement above.
I am not a O&A pumper or pest or whatever you want to call it -- but I do happen to know about this stuff; and know that whatever preconceived notions you have for their performance in Cleveland are wrong.
When O&A went syndicated, they weren't put in AM Drive because Rover was already established there -- and it would do no good putting the two up against each other. But now that Rover is gone, they wasted no time putting them in the slot. O&A are very well established in that market, as it has been one of the more successful markets for them. They have very solid ratings there.
PS - BTW, you don't move a show from PM Drive to AM Drive, if it is not successful. The fact is, the show on a 9 hour tape delay WAS successful.

Think what you want, but I have the ratings for PM Drive from the Fall Book, you do not... O&A have gone from 6th to 6th to 2nd in the last 3 books in their target demo of 18-34. They've taken the station from 10th with Adults 18-49 to 4th... and I'm not talking about Men here, this is overall Adults. And this is with a show that is in a 9 hour tape delay. Previously when they were on live in PM Drive (before the Church incedent) O&A on the same station went to #1 amount Persons 12+... and that is an indisputable FACT.
Look, I don't care about your petty arguement/disagreement between Stern fans and O&A fans -- I'm not a part of it. I'm just giving you facts... and they do not support you arguement. O&A have traditionally done well in that market and that fact is not disputable. Being #1 P12+ when they were live -- and then taking the slot back to #2 in their target demo with a show that is tape delayed cannot be ignored.

David Lee Roth’s flameout as Howard Stern’s heir apparent proves that being a syndicated radio host looks effortless, but isn’t. Just ask Roth’s replacements, Opie and Anthony.
“He came into a real tough situation,” Opie said in a recent interview from New York. Roth had no radio experience, yet was thrown on the air under intense pressure and media attention.
“Everybody has one good show in them,” Anthony said. “You better be able to entertain for days on end.”
The ultimate irony is that CBS Radio turned to Opie (Gregg Hughes) and Anthony (Anthony Cumia) — the jocks it fired just a few years ago —as its savior when Roth stepped down April 21 after fewer than six months as Howard Stern’s replacement. Stern left CBS for Sirius Satellite Radio.
“The Opie & Anthony Show” is still based at XM Satellite Radio, where the duo does a daily, uncensored morning show from 9 to 11 a.m. But a censored, three-hour version of the program is broadcast daily from 6 to 9 a.m. on CBS Radio affiliates in New York, Dallas, Philadelphia, Boston, Pittsburgh and West Palm Beach, Fla.
You can hear them on terrestrial radio in Cleveland, too, but not in the mornings. The show is rebroadcast afternoons from 3 to 6 p.m. on WXRK FM/92.3 “K-Rock” (formerly “Xtreme Radio” WXTM).
Opie and Anthony rose to radio stardom in the late 1990s working for CBS Radio, then known as Infinity Broadcasting. The original “Opie & Anthony Show” was heard during afternoon drive-time in 20 cities, including Cleveland. Debuting here in July 2001, the show shot to No. 1 in the ratings in less than a year.
Then came the stunt.
Infinity canceled “Opie and Anthony” in August 2002 after a stunt that involved a couple allegedly having sex in St. Patrick’s Cathedral. For more than two years, Opie, 41, and Anthony, 43, couldn’t even get on the air in Podunk.
They still had two years on their contract, which prevented them from working elsewhere. “Infinity didn’t want us to go anywhere else and compete with Howard,” Anthony said. The pair also has worked in Boston and Long Island, N.Y.
The guys take responsibility for the badly received sex stunt, but also said that Infinity overreacted. There was no graphic language, no live depiction or descriptions — just a spotter claiming that the couple was having sex, Anthony said.
When their Infinity contract ran out, the pair in 2004 took their show to XM — beyond the Federal Communications Commission’s reach. But Opie and Anthony keep their language cleaner than you might expect.
“The point is to be funny, compelling and interesting to listeners,”Anthony said.
He pointed out that the show did well when it was heard in the afternoons in Cleveland before Infinity yanked the show.
“I think it works well in either day part,” Anthony said. “We’re excited to be back on in Cleveland,” Opie said.

I am a male 32 years old who lives in the Cleveland area. I listened to Howard for eight years. I never bothered to check out O&A's afternoon show on Krock. Howard was always talking about how bad they suck and quite frankly the music 92.3 Krock (formerly Xtreme radio) plays flat out sucks. So I figured they did as well. Then Howard pulled his F-CBS move (which was really nothing more than a move to line his pockets with cash) under the guise of being repressed by the FCC. I started to listen to Rover. I spent two miserable years listening to him and that douchie's drivel. I swear they set my mood for the day to fowl with that awful morning show. But hey what was I supposed to listen to? Lannigan? Bob and Tom? Please! It was the only show on the radio in morning drive here. Now keep in mind I didn't just listen on the drive to work. I listen to radio about 10-12 hours a day. I've been doing so for twenty years. (Yes I was listening to radio when I was about 12). Anyways I heard an advertisement that O&A were coming to afternoons on Krock. After a week they had me hooked. I dropped about $300 on an XM subscription and the gear to take it anywhere. A year later I am loving every second of thier morning show. As a matter of fact I am listening to thier worst of the week at this moment. So I really do not get this whole insulting fued between Stern and O&A fans. But I will tell you this: I had plenty of fun calling Benjamin Bornstein a C*n*. If Howard came back to FM radio I wouldn't even bother to check out his show. He is a pompus ass who pulled some real BS behind the scenes (conveintly left that out of his movie). I am estatic that O&A are back on Cleveland radio in morning drive.
