Once again, trade publication Talker's Magazine has released its "Heavy Hundred" list of top talk radio hosts. And, once again, satellite radio's talkers have been lowered in their rankings.

Last year, Howard Stern came in at #13, while Opie & Anthony were ranked #17. But this year? None of them ranked even in the Top 20.

Best of XM on Sirius - another success!

Best of XM on SiriusXM subscribers aren't the only ones who are successfully getting the "Best Of" programming, Sirius folks are getting hooked up too as evidenced by these photos.

I don't know about you, but to me it's mighty strange to see the cross-pollination of programming on the opposing receivers. After all these years, it's just... weird.

More photos of Best of XM programming on Sirius receivers below.

Opie & Anthony closer to new deal?

Opie and Anthony with Mel Karmazin
Negotiations to keep Opie & Anthony on satellite radio could be one step closer, but have yet to be officially solidified with just over 7 days left to make a decision.

Opie & Anthony met with the Sirius XM Radio Inc. executives yesterday, according to FMQB. The radio duo also met with Scott Greenstein back in early August, but - obviously - no deal has been publicly announced.

The Virus (ch 202) channel has appeared as part of the "Best Of" lineup, giving a glimmer of hope to fans, but Opie & Anthony were not specifically named as part of the package. Let's see if that changes over the next week.

Opie & Anthony in contract talks with Sirius XM Radio

Opie and Anthony

Talks are starting today between Opie & Anthony and Sirius XM Radio Inc. over the duo's pending contract renewal, reports FMQB.

Super Agent Bob Eatman revealed on the program today that a meeting to discuss the contract is scheduled for this afternoon with Sirius XM President of Entertainment & Sports, Scott Greenstein.

The meeting comes less than a week after CEO Mel Karmazin appeared on their show (audio) and stated that he wanted O&A to be part of the newly merged company.

Eatman also revealed that CBS Radio is waiting to see if the new Sirius XM deal will allow Opie & Anthony to stay on terrestrial radio. If it does, then he suggested that the duo will likely make a return to WYSP/Philadelphia.

Remember, Opie & Anthony's contract with CBS Radio was only renewed for one-year in April. The reason for the short term renewal, of course, was the merger.
