I didn't want to post about this yet until more information comes in, but with both Gizmodo and now Engadget talking about it, so I guess it should be brought up even though word got out about this yesterday:
Rumor has it that XM and Pioneer are going to announce a new wearable satellite radio receiver at the CES show in January. The device is supposed to have nearly identical capabilities to the Delphi MyFi except that it will look different and/or be possibly (hopefully?) smaller.
The good news about all this hooplah is that there's finally enough interest from major manufacturers to put this kind consumer electronic product on the shelves. The potential that Pioneer could integrate this wearable device into their other products such as car audio headunits and home audio - suddenly makes this into one hella cool device.
But then again, it could be all bullshit. We won't know for sure until CES.
