The keen eared crew over at Sirius Fan Network caught this one. Playboy Radio's Christie Hefner recently announced on the air that Playboy Radio has amassed over one million opted-in Sirius subscribers.
That's a pretty impressive number considering that Playboy Radio only started broadcasting in March.
Sirius subscribers have the option to opt-in to Playboy Radio either by calling or by visiting Sirius' website. By default subscribers do not receive Playboy Radio, so getting one million opt-ins is a pretty impressive conversion rate.

I opted in at the beginning just because it didn't cost any extra. Haven't actually listened for more than a few minutes since then...
Don't know if that's indicitive of the majority of users, but I didn't hear anything special for the few minutes I listened. Let's face it, Playboy is meant to be seen and not heard.
Given that it's free, the number is not surprising at all.
My roommate put it on to show off I think once when I was in his car (I'm and XM sub), he said "I bet XM doesnt have this!" and I told him they did, but nobody listened to it. It was on another 30 seconds then got turned because it was too painful to listen to.
In all honesty, if XM came out with a free optional channel I could activate online, I would do it immediately. Even if it was a home decorating channel or something. I'd just want to know it was there if i needed it.
As crazy as I hear the Playboy Channel is, I subscribed my 3 systems and haven't turned it on once.
I opted in out of curiosity. I was actually very surprised just how entertaining this channel really is. The morning talk show is good, but Night Calls with Christy Canyon & Ginger Lynn is awesome!!
Is it?!
'NIght Calls' should be a daily (or weekly) show that's syndicated to some sort of adult-themed channel on the service.
There's really not enough audio material, IMO, to sustain an entire Playboy *channel*, however...
