The folks at NormSoft have upgraded the Pocket Tunes Radio iPhone/iPod Touch app to now have the ability to record any stream you want - including recording Sirius XM satellite radio.
Recording lengths are only limited by your storage capacity. And while playing back, you can skip forward and back to jump past songs - and commercials - you don't want to hear.
The update also might be good news for XM SkyDock owners as it could be an indication that Apple is loosening their hold on their internal memory and allowing apps to include recording/saving of data.
That was my one big gripe about the SkyDock - no timeshifting. So could an official way to record Sirius XM using their Premium Online app or XM SkyDock app be far behind?
Who knows - but in the meantime Pocket Tunes is available for $6.99 right now (iTunes link) so that anyone can record them for playback later.
Do you have the latest version of Pocket Tunes Radio? If so, sound off in the comments below!

Thanks Nathan!

I have been using PocketTunes since the app first allowed for Sirius/XM streaming. Very excited they now allow for recording of the stream going to update the app now.
Just recorded a few mins of Ron and Fez and it worked perfectly.
I can get any sirius program for free , just sayin .
Am I missing something?
No record button for Sirius....yes, I updated the app.
Is it just XM streams only?
Could be the format of the stream.....
Apple isn't just now loosening their hold on their internal memory; I've been able to record online radio stations with Fstream for a long time.
For XM Skydock, not using the internal memory for timeshifting when it was first released is just another missed opportunity for Sirius XM.
Do you have to be actively listening to the stream? If someone called me, would it interrupt the recording?
Sorry if those are dumb questions, I don't have an iPhone yet.
Has anyone tried recording slacker? Is it one of the choices? Thanks.
Waaaaaitttaminute.
How is this different from the XM-PCR from a few years back, when XM stopped selling the unit due to fear of lawsuits by the RIAA? Doesn't this still enable the user to record copyrighted music and make MP3s from them at no charge?
oh look, another way to steal music from the music industry!
Just hit the "now Playing" Button and you will see it.
