Rolling Stones

Strap in kids, because Sirius is bringing back Rolling Stones Radio, starting tomorrow.

The 100% 'Stones channel, which originally made its debut on Sirius in 2005, is returning to celebrate the Martin Scorsese film entitled Shine A Light which chronicles the concerts from the band's 2006 "A Bigger Bang Tour." (In a twist of fate, it so happens that the original debut of Rolling Stones Radio was to celebrate the release of the "A Bigger Bang" album. Who'da thunk it?)

Shine A Light, a Paramount Classics release produced in association with Concert Productions International (CPI) and Shangri-La Entertainment, opens in select US cities on April 4.

In addition to the regular massive catalog of music and interviews that we've come to expect from these types of channels, Rolling Stones Radio will also preview the 22 track "Shine A Light" album being released with the film.

Rolling Stones Radio will air on from March 18th through April 15th on Sirius channel 12.

Yet another single artist channel? This sucks. I certainly do not want to listen to these hasbeens.

How many times does Sirius have to bend over and take this Payola? Are they that desperate for money?

WHEN WILL IT END?????

banf21.

It says right in the article when it will end. April 15th.

For one month you will have to super shuffle yourself. I know it will be real tough banf21 but I have faith that you can change those channels all by yourself.

Enough with the Single Artist Channels!

>>For one month you will have to super shuffle yourself

That could get somebody arrested in certain parts of the U.S.

No wonder Lee bolted XM. Is this what the merger is bringing us? Just more & more single artist channels? What a fucking waste.

Well...at least they couldn't possibly remove The Bridge again for this. Because it already being taken up by E-Street Radio!!

BRING BACK THE BRIDGE!!!!

Enough already. It has been played and played and played. It's PLAYED OUT!!! I'd like to see Sirius take these stupid artist specific channels and rotate artists every month. That should be just enough time to give people who enjoy that band/artist time to listen to them ad nauseum. After a month you bring someone new in and DON'T GO BACK!! Once is enough. If you want to hear them again, set an alert on your radio for everytime they're played on one of the channels.

All this bluster is nice, but if you're still paying $13 a month for this crap, then they will do nothing about it. Vote with your wallets.

Content is king.

LMFAO.

Hey bob, I read the article. I was talking about these stupid single artist channels. They're not even getting NEW artists in anymore.

I got a great idea... just create a stupid channel dedicated to single artists, and rotate them in every month or whatever.

When SIRIUS first launched they had a rotating station featuring different styles of music and artists called "The Galaxy" on Channel 100. It changed every 2 weeks...Zydeco, Lounge, etc.

Unfortunately they deleted it and came up with this horrible scheme of hijacking popular channels for PR/Payola stunts.

I predict that in 46 days Sirius will have an exciting announcement about the who and their new channel

I"ve had sirius for 3+ years, recently added an XM receiver...I was amazed how much deeper the music really is...

Is it just me or do these people in the pic actually look like a conglomeration of small dicks/foreskin?????!!! weird..

IRBS asks, "Are they that desperate for money?"...and StackPointer passes up the opportunity to reply, "Yes!!!"

A sign of the end times....

It is super shuffle. Come on people are you really this upset?

The bridge was popular w/ some people so I can understand the anger in that being gone to a single artist. But come on super shuffle? Really? People care about that?

As long as they are doing this stuff on channels like that I dont see what the issue is.

Why was this posting removed from the front page?

@TulaneJeff: It was just a glitch. Should be back now. No worries.

I'm not one to get angry but come on! You're replacing yet another channel, one that I usually listen to during walks home, with Rolling Stones? Damn, I was so sick of that when they did that last year, I thought it'd be a godsend to see that channel gone.

I don't mind the single artists channels, even the ones I don't like (Bruce). But, that being said, I wish they brought back Vacation and Galaxy. Sirius got rid of it's cool channels for mass appeal, and it's gotten them NO WHERE. If we had world music instead of E Street Radio, I firmly believe Sirius would have the same amount of subs as it does now. Howard was responsible for all the news subs, not The Who.

You don't like the single artist channels, then cancel your subscription and go back to regular radio if it gets you that upset. Dumbasses...

Bob,

Yes, I liwsten to, and care about, Supershuffle.

--The Radio Kid

Bring back the bridge. Thats why I got the damn radio.

The first time the Stones came to Sirius, they stole the world music channel, and Sirius PROMISED it would be back by a certain date. It never came back, and they did not stick to their claima bout the end date for the Stones. That's why I canceled Sirius, and it will remain cancelled until those assholes put the world music channel back on.
