Rosie O'DonnellCelebrities are still getting signed by Sirius XM Radio Inc. - now the latest addition to the satellite radio ranks is Rosie O'Donnell with her new morning show Rosie Radio set to launch on November 2nd.
For two-hours every weekday, Rosie will host the live, call-in show covering topics like raising kids, losing weight, watching TV, finding inspirational people, and hearing Rosie's extraordinary stories.

Rosie will be joined on Rosie Radio regularly by some of her closest friends, including:
  • Lifelong friend Jeanne Kopetic who will stop by Tuesdays to reminisce about growing up in the '80s, high school life, and the music they love.
  • Janette Barber, Rosie's longtime friend, producer and fellow comedienne, will be by her side as the show's executive producer.
  • Rosie's friend and makeup artist Helene Macaulay will also join the fun, appearing regularly on Fridays.
"This is an exciting new adventure - two hours of talk show entertainment, without having to wear makeup. Perfection," said Rosie O'Donnell.

Rosie Radio will air Mondays through Fridays from 10am - 12pm ET on Sirius XM Stars (Sirius channel 102 and XM channel 155). Replays will air from 8 - 10pm ET, with a "Best of the Week" sprinkled in at various times on the weekend.

What the hell is Mel thinking with this one???? Yeah this is going to bring in a bunch of new subs... You have got to be kidding me... Ron & Fez can't get a new Executive Producer but they can sign this horseshit???

Are you kidding me?! What a waste! They can only afford to pay Bubba to do one exclusive show a week but they can pay for this?! Learn how to work Mel!

Great Work, Mel! Thanks for adding yet another show that I will NEVER, EVER hear on my XM! Did you pay for it with those rate increases...er..."licensing fees" that you now jacked me for?

Just counting the days until my year sub ends...with it, my association with this shithole company.

R.I.P. XM.

Red dragons!

Terrible!

I remember all of the talented, dedicated people who were 'let go' a year ago. And now they hire this trash.

I have one request: I hope nobody tells me how much money they spent on her.

Why? Haven't we had enough of this? Another washed up nobody is not what Sirius/XM need.

Seriously, this is the best laugh I've had in weeks. Thanks, Mel, I needed something to make me smile.

You know, there have been a few times where I missed having XM. Now I know there won't be any more. Pinball Wizard nailed it. How many people with real talent and the ability to program decent radio programming could have been kept for what they're paying this waste of space?

When I read this I laughed so hard that I farted. Then that made me giggle and I did it again.

Thank god , Rosie O'Donnell didn't get the Price Is Right job . That show would have been a disaster with her .

Rosie . Ellen . What is it , with gays and lesbians over-taking the entertainment industry anymore ? Something's wrong with this country .

Good Grief- Shes not that bad-She is more entertaining then Howard and Martha whats her name At least its not Dr swooshy Phil.

Why dont you guys (obviously) give it up, shut up and suggest some names you would like to hear instead of your whining

Thats it Im done Im giving my lifetime subscription up

How about the MEL hour on channel 101

This is almost as stupid as the Oprah thing. Thats right kids more programming we will never listen to. Get rid of Ron and Fez those guys suck just as bad as Rosie!!

I wonder if she will grace her audience (all two of them) with her well thought out troofer conspiracy theories. The same theories that got the angry hatefilled bitch booted from The View. I wonder if Hasselback will come on occasionally so Rosie the bull dyke will have someone to bully.

It's amazing how short-sighted people are. Saying Rosie O'donnel is a bad signing because they will never listen to it is just dumb. SIRIUS XM has over 100 channels to try to meet all types of listeners needs. I can't listen to Opie and Anthony, I can barely tolerate Howard Stern for more than 5 minutes. However, I know they reach their market. There are more listeners other than Howard Stern listeners!!!People don't think Oprah brings in subscribers? you don't think people will listen to Rosie O'donnel? are you kidding? News flash!!There are many women listeners out there that must have their listening needs met....Bubba, Howard Stern, Or Opie and Anthony dont meet that....Grow up and realize people have different tastes....lol..People saying they going to cancel because they have shows they don't like? hint I hate country music, rock and roll, does that mean I think they shouldn't offer it? I cant stand elvis...He was a fat, untalented, drug addict, ....However, he should have a channel because he has his fans...

That is the thing, Oprah did not bring in subs and Rosie won't either. SiriusXM already had several talented people and let them go when the merger was completed. Now they bring in someone with no talent, fired from The View, and won't bring in any more subs.

I'm sick of Rosie, you're sick of Rosie, we're all sick of Rosie.

For the love of God, NO MORE ROSIE!

If Rosie brings in as many subs as she wolfs down at Quiznos every day, then this could be huge.... just like Rosie! Get a load of those sausage fingers. Now that is what I call sexy!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this specialization of talent the crux of SatRad? Yes, SIRI|XM has many channels to offer and Rosie may fill one of those genres.
Let's not bash her until we know what sort of ratings, if any, she gets.
I say bring her on!! Now, I won't listen to her but hopefully someone will be willing to buy the product to get their dose of Rosie.
I think I may have tried her out on OutQ for a while to gain an audience and following and THEN given her a full blown channel if the demand was there.

Meh, I'm not the genious Mel is though.

There is no accounting for taste, or peoples preferences; sounds redundant - don't ya think? I have never been a Rosie fan, but I have to admit that when she was on Stern the other day, I kept listening the entire segment she was on. I must have found her to be at least somewhat interesting, or perhaps it's because she is so damn opinionated. Just based on the fact that I didn't change the channel, I have to believe that a percentage of the millions of her house frau, soccer mom, couch potato yenta fans will want to listen in to their hero.
I hope she brings a ton of her loyal fans over to satellite, and that these same fans shoot off their big, fat mouths to all their friends... so on and so forth!

So, to the keyboard pounders who have vented their spleen yet again over a decision that Sirius/XM has made: let's take a closer look at why you hate Rosie...

1. She's fat.

2. She's loud.

3. She's ubiquitous.

4. She's a lesbian.

5. She espouses her views (political and otherwise) that you don't like.

6. She's not a cute, chattly, big-titted smiley face who kowtows to her male host, giggles like a 12-year-old, laughs at all the jokes, and has not a brain in her head (like Kelly Ripa, or that Mika sidekick on MSNBC).

7. She doesn't fit your stereotype of what a woman is supposed to be in the media.

Did I miss any?

I'll be the first to admit, I never thought Rosie O'Donnell was supremely talented, but her talk show was good in that when she has the floor and is on her own she can do a decent job.

The View was not a good fit for her, and her politics have nothing to do with it. Rosie does not play well with others.

She is the kind of person who needs her space...kind of like how Howard and Imus need to be at the center of the show. It just works that way.

Will this show bring in subscribers? It might, but will it be enough to turn the company's fortunes around? Highly unlikely; the firm needs a full effort, and it's too disjointed at this point.

...and here comes more crap!!!
