Inside Radio is reporting that many of the tapes that Sirius Satellite Radio paid $2 million for were recorded on TDK cassettes at "sometimes iffy speeds." There's a lot of cleanup work ahead and as a result, we may not be hearing all of the early content just yet.

any one else remember H talking about "baking" the tapes before he starting talking about c b s not letting him have his tapes
You guys got it all wrong and so does the article. He had already spent a lot of time backing up his tapes onto digital formats. Compact Disc of either CD or DVD capacity.
Also, CBS wouldn't let him have the physical tapes that were basically useless and were to be a backup of the backup he already had made.
If there is still a problem, there are people who don't hardly know how to use a computer and have recorded every show. You don't need to depend on torrents, people would come out of the woodworks if needed with good quality tapes.
It just more anti-satellite spin.

I think that was just for more recent stuff. Apparently, Tom bought some defective tape that has to be literally baked in an oven first in order to be transferred digitally. They finished all that back at K-Rock.
"Perhaps if you were able to leave well enough alone, every Stern/O&A thread wouldn't turn into a flame war.
But, I guess that's asking the impossible... :P"
I actually agree with you. Of course, it's usually useless little trolls like Sticker Boy Ramone who start all the idiocy.
Hey Jimmy good luck taping for Leno, we know you'll kill.
