...and HD Radio would only have about 8 million listeners by the same time period, this according to Bridge Ratings. Youch, that's even worse than the 10 million HD Radio listeners forecasted by Forrester Research.
Bridge Ratings President Dave Van Dyke said, "HD growth is slower than previously thought due to conservative estimates related to the automotive market component and slow adoption by the majority of consumers. It is difficult to project how quickly the auto industry will embrace the technology."
Bridge is also projecting a possible 100 million satellite radio subscribers by 2020, though it needs to be said that forecasts that deep into the future should be looked at with caution.
