Holiday discounts for satellite radios The Holiday shopping season is in full-swing and hoards of savvy shoppers are looking for those bargains to give to family and friends (and, ahem, sometimes just for ourselves).

So Orbitcast's sponsors have put together some phenomenal satellite radio deals for the Holiday shopping season. These aren't the lame low-end receivers that we're all accustomed to seeing at super "low" prices. We're talking about the top-of-the-line satellite radios and fan-favorite packages at great prices.
Below you'll find some incredible discounts on satellite radios from our sponsors Satellite Radio Superstore and TSS Radio.

In the interest of full transparency: I just want to point out that they didn't pay anything for this post, but both are sponsors of Orbitcast and they help make sure this site continues to exist (and we're all thankful for that, right?). So if you're in the market for a new satellite radio (or have a satrad in mind on your wishlist) give a gander at these deals and help support those who help make all this possible.

But enough of this palaver, let's get on with the deals!

Pioneer XMP3 (GEX-XMP3)

XMp3 The "hot" new satellite radio for the season is most definitely the XMP3. What with it's built-in electronic programming guide, 5-channel simultaneous recording capability, on-the-go sleek design and auto-recording functionality; the XMP3 is a veritable swiss army knife for satellite radios.

TSS Radio is offering the XMP3 for $259.99 with a free Leather Portfolio case (the Leather Portfolio case is also available for free on the Stiletto 2 and the Pioneer Inno).

Satellite Radio Superstore is offering the XMP3 for $239.95 after mail-in rebate. Both have the XMP3 in-stock and ready to ship right now.

Sirius Starmate 5 (ST5TK1)

Sirius Starmate 5

Some would argue that the XMP3 isn't really the "hot" new satellite radio on the market, but instead it's the Sirius Starmate 5. Afterall, the Starmate 5 is the only satellite radio that is A La Carte capable, so you can literally pick-and-choose what channels you want to listen to.

A lot of satellite radio users really like the blue, wide-screen display and the basic design of the Starmate 5 - especially if you don't use it for "on the go" listening.

Oh right, there's one more benefit of the Starmate 5 - it's about half the price of the XMP3. In fact, Satellite Radio Superstore is has the Starmate 5 for just $119.95 and TSS Radio stocks it for only $119.99.

If you're yearning to upgrade your current plug-and-play radio, the Starmate 5 should be on the top of your list.

Delphi SKYFi2 Super BundleSKYFi2 Super Bundle

The SKYFi 2 is hardly a "new" satellite radio, but it sure if one of the most favored XM receivers and has stood the test of time has a dependable and easy-to-use unit.

Satellite Radio Superstore has put together a specially package Delphi SKYFi2 "Super Bundle" (which include the receiver, a car kit, a home kit, PLUS a boombox) all for just $99.95 after rebate. That's pretty much everything you need all in one convenient package.

Sirius Sportster 5

Sirius Sportster 5

In this day and age, color displays are the standard for digital music players, and there's no reason why this doesn't extend to satellite radios. Enter the Sirius Sportster 5.

This Sirius receiver boasts a vivid color display with adjustable backlighting colors to match your dashboard. Plus you can enjoy all the advanced features that the Sportster line is known for - 60-minute pause/rewind, 30-channel presets, and an alarm-clock with snooze functionality built-in.

All of the XM-branded receivers support a-la-carte.
Of the Sirius-branded receivers, only the Starmate 5 does.
Sirius for some reason does not promote a-la-carte for XM. The company is not making any common sense.

Hey Ryan you ever look at myradiostore.com? I know they may not be a sponsor but their prices blow everyone away they are the only company i use. xmp3=$199

http://www.myradiostore.com/xm-radio-receivers/xmp3.html

None of the XM recievers will get the a-la-carte programing. I heard it won't be until next year for the XM branded unit.

Does the XMp3 come with a car kit?

i would have to sell 2000 shares of my siri stock to afford the XMP3, oh damn i also have to pay the monthly sub

XMP3 does not come with a car kit. it is packaged with a home kit.

These prices are nothing compared to the prices at Sirius Specials. They have the following radios at much lower prices. Stiletto 2 for $254.99 after rebate, Sportster 5 at $124.99 after rebate, Starmate 5 at $104.99 after rebate and the Stratus 5 at just $24.99 after rebate. Yea you have to fill out rebates but as long as you are a new subscriber and you activate the radio you qualify.

check myradiostore.com for that sirius also, much better pricing, stiletto2 $219

It never ceases to amaze me how damn naive and stupid the people who make these decisions are. Over and over it has been one boneheaded decision after another and with no regard; none to their respective customer base. God forbid the braintrust couldn't keep this simple. I lifetime subscription, $300, no strings attached? Nope, that would have been too simple and made too much sense. With the exception of two Sirius Radios, none can be made to accept an a-la carte subscription. It may come to a shock to the brain trust at Sirius XM, but not everybdoy is a Howard Stern fan or thinks Sirius selling its soul to him was a smart move. But if the brain trust is listening.... start with communicating with your subscriber base and keep the dialogue open. What's next; the neverending two year contract that cell phone providers ram down our throats with every little change we make to our service? Psst... not a lot of people know about it, but there is another satellite radio service out there and that is DMX. Dish Network uses both Muzak and Sirius XM. Dish's Dish CD channels are no commercial - Zilch! No promos, no talking heads...24/7 music. What part of simplicity do y'all not understand?

Bill Berry,

You are right on the money! They complicate EVERYTHING, and there are ALWAYS strings attached. The biggest obstacle preventing Sirius/XM from building its subscription numbers is.... Sirius/XM !!!

If this thing fails, the main reason will not be the merger delay, the economy, or the auto industry dilema; the failure will be the result of horrible management and a complete disregard for the subscribers!
