BIGresearch ran a study profiling the average satellite radio listener and has delivered some very interesting (and hilarious) results. We're a buncha fat, 40-year-old, money spending, unhealthy men with too much leisure time and most of us own dogs. Damn.

Male: 56.1%
Female: 43.9%

Average Age: 42.7 (66% are 22-54)

Average Household Income: $77,329

Pet Ownership: Dog (68.5%)

Top 5 Leisure Activities:
1. Watch TV (68.3%)
2. Listen to Music (66.4%)
3. Surf the Net (65.0%)
4. Dining Out (63.8%)
5. Read Books (59.9%)

Satellite Radio listeners suffer from the following Health Conditions (moreso than the regular population):
Acid Reflux
Allergies
Arthritis
Depression
Headaches/Migraines
Heartburn/Indigestion
Heart Disease
Insomnia
Overweight

Influence: 40.5% give advice to others about purchasing products or services

Preferred Grocery Chain: Wal-Mart

Undergarments: Hanes, Fruit of the Loom or Victoria's Secret.

Top 3 ISP's: Comcast, AOL and SBC/Yahoo.

Preferred Search Engines: Google and Yahoo (duh)

Shop Online? (of course!) 40.5%

Preferred Online Shopping Sites:
Bay, Amazon or Newegg (cheap RAM!)


Next 6 months purchase intentions for: cars/trucks, computers, furniture, home appliances, house, jewelry, major home improvement, RV/boat, stereo equipment, TV, DVD, digital camera, and vacation travel.


Cars Driven: Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Toyota, Acura or GMC

Cars They Want to Buy: Ford, Chevy, Lexus, Toyota, Dodge (gotta have a Magnum)
