SIRIUS Satellite Radio's business services unit, SIRIUS Business, has inked a deal with CiCi's Pizza to include SIRIUS as background music for over 600 restaurants throughout the US. SIRIUS Business is provided exclusively by Applied Media Technologies Corporation (AMTC) under the brand name as a service for business, presenting competition to similar services such as Muzak.Under the agreement, AMTC will also provide sound equipment to the CiCi's Pizza Restaurant locations.

Wow!!! 600 subs in one shot. Only 1,599,400 subs to go. Now Sirius pays for the hardware which costs them a couple hundred. That means that it will take a year and a half to break even. Bad business or what?? Hopefully they aren't giving them a discounted rate on top of that.
What's with Sirius and pizzia joints? first, they had some promotion with papa johns, and now this.
It said they inked a deal, not they gave away equipment... You dont know how much CiCi's paid for this service.

this like XM/Applebee's with one exception... Sirius PR maching is working. Its all good for SAT RAD even if sirius gives away the 600 recivers and free 10 years of service. They need people to hear them and a venue like this is a good place to do it and far better than Echo Star or Direct TV where people get the Sirius or XM in their home for free.
sorry guys these are all third party commercial sales for retail areas the fee runs from 24 up to 29 a month which includes all the extra payments to the riaa artist ect.
they have added thousand's of locations over the one and a half months
i see they also got a four seasons hotel today
Actually since this is a business related equipment/subscriber deal the cost is not $13 a month.

Your a genius!!! XM has JetBlue,AOL, CBS and Direct TV. Giving away a subscription service doesn't work. XM has proven that already with their 60% drop rate.
In a related note....
EBgames/Gamestop is having XM installed in various stores. Not sure about how many are being installed in the stores but Ebgames/Gamestop has 3000 stores. That kind of trumps this deal.
"EBgames/Gamestop is having XM installed in various stores. Not sure about how many are being installed in the stores but Ebgames/Gamestop has 3000 stores. That kind of trumps this deal."
yeah, because 13 year old kids spending their allowance on the newest spiderman game have money to buy XM, then pay $13 a month for the service.
good luck with those video game stores!
The average video game buyer is 18-24 years old. Talking about kids.....The parents just stand around and wait as their kids look, they listen to music as they wait. THAT is who will pay attention. Over the years I have been asked "who sings this" and I couldn't tell them because of Muzak, now with XM I will be able to tell people who it is and that its on XM. I brought my inno in with me every now and then and I was asked what was on the speakers. If you feel like video games are for kids then your clearly out of touch with todays world. Hell....I have a 70 year old customer that buys games for HIMSELF.
Plus when you compare 3000 to 500... I once went into a restaurant with Sirius and you would think you would hear music....no alls I heard was 60% music and 40% DJ. Not an ideal eating experience.
Good for XM, Good for Sirius.
Good for SATRAD.
Horay for EVERYBODY!!
tell your boy ahigee that to joe blow me
i bet those 18-24 year olds would rather listen to XM then play warcraft? HA! and the parents are sitting around listening to the music in the store, they are thinking "why cant my kid be into football, instead he sits in the house all damn day and plays mario brothers."
funny you mentioned the dj thing, when i was in a circuit city today in the car audio dept, they were listening to "The City." after almost every song a dj cam on and blabbed away. someone changed it to another channel and after the song finished i heard a commercial. so much for commercial free music huh? real smart for xm to team up with clear channel back in the day!
i have plenty of friends who play video games. they either buy them online, rent them from gamefly, or buy them for less at best buy or circuit city.
good luck with your new in store xm radio comic book boy! LMFAO!!!
"XM Radio...worst satellite radio ever!"

now philmore says...Ahigee, just because you bring your inno into your ganestop/comic book store, it does not mean that ebgames/gamestop is "installing XM radio in Various stores."
unless you can post a link to a press release that states XM is "installing radios into various stores," YOU are the only person who brings their xm radio to work and plugs it into speakers so all the customers can hear it.
Sirius' deal to broadcast in over 600 cici locations trumps your 1 comic book store. sorry lil fella, its just the truth.
Ahigee...worst comic book store employee ever!
Fafafafa...your mad because what I said about the DJ's is true?
If so you should say it and keep your comments on topic and this topic is about the expansion of satellite radio into places of business, and I agree with Tom C. by saying both moves(at EB and Cici's) are good for satellite radio. Just not Muzak.... ;)
If you would pay attention heebeegeebees, joe blow said having all of these corporate deals don't work. he addressed me and failed to address you. i'm on your side dip shit.
Cool. I love CiCi's pizza. Satellite Radio (even if it is Sirius) plus CiCi's Pizza = Great!
He didn't have anything to address with me because I hadn't commented yet. But I didn't read your comment 10 times through to see what you were saying the first time so my bad.
To Joe Blow...... It's all about exposure. I just had my new store manager ask me today what XM was. All this could be solved with exposure and we get XM soon(or when I bring my inno in next) he will see the difference between terrestrial radio and satellite radio. All these corporate deals are showing people that "it's great and you can have it too!". THEY AREN'T GIVING AWAY SUBS. EB will be a paying subs (not sure about the XM business cost buy i know it's more than the normal $13).
Just to let you in on some stuff. EB paid $80 a month to Muzak for every radio (not official but thats what the service man said).
Overall both parties win. The business has entertainment in addition to whatever they do and XM gets exposure("Your listening to the XM Hitlist")and also gets paid.
Hey ahigee, I honestly think you are one of the more intelligent sat. radio fans out there. This isn't a stern vs o&a thing, its a sat. radio problem i'm having at another forum. Will you be willing to help out? Anyone for that matter. If not, thats cool. Its just that i'm by myself against all these investor fags, or investor wannabe's.
