Formula 1 RacingSirius Satellite Radio has entered into an agreement with Formula One Management to become the exclusive North American radio broadcaster of all Formula 1 (F1) races.

Sirius' F1 schedule kicks off this weekend with live coverage of the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday, May 25th at 8am ET on Sirius channel 125. Often referred to as the crown jewel of F1, the Monaco Grand Prix is one of the only street circuits in use.

The FIA Formula 1 World Championship is the highest end of open wheeled motor racing and a single season can consist of a series of 18 races, known as Grands Prix, run from March to November on road course circuits, and in a few cases on closed city streets. The cars race at high speeds, exceeding 200 mph, and the results of each race are combined to determine two annual World Championships, one for drivers and one for constructors (teams).

Sirius will broadcast the entire remainder of the 2008 calendar's races live nationwide on Sirius 125, including the first-ever F1 night race, being held in Singapore on September 28th.

Very Cool...Great news!

I love Formula 1, but I can't bring myself to listen to the races on radio. Watching the races can be a bit long when watch on television, the radio could be be devastating.

I'm still waiting for the National Checkers League , to come to Sirius .

weeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee...weeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee......weeeeeEEEEEeeeeeee...

Very compelling radio.

I would love Sirius to broadcast
the NCAA Lax Tourney from FOXBORRO,MA

I love how fans on both services ridicule others for their ridiculous sports broadcasts. The fact of the matter is NO sports is really that good on the radio, get over it. Baseball on radio please it is barely watchable on TV.

THIS IS GREAT NEWS! ANOTHER REASON WHY SIRIUS IS THE CONTENT LEADER IN SATELLITE RADIO! XM DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING THAT COMPARES! GO SIRI!

Yeah! Great news. THIS is what sta radio is about, alternative choices that you just CANNOT find on AM/FM! Thanks SIRIUS!!

i love formula 1 it should be great to her the engine on vehicle stereo on home system

i love formula 1 it should be great to hear the engine on vehicle stereo on home system

we are starting to see announcements that would seem to indicate that the companies are starting to go alone again--with exclusive agreements etc. Im beginning to think this merger conditions are deal breakers---thanks to whats best for the special interests and not the public

This is great news. I would love is Sirius had an all Motorsports channel, not just Nascar. If they could build a channel like Nascar Radio, but instead of focusing on just Nascar, have all types of Motorsports. Maybee after the merger(if it happens) there will be enough for two stations, one for Nascar and one for everybody else.

Funny how all the Siriots bitch that Indy racing on XM is useless, and then fall all over themselves with F1.

Well Banff21, Nascar is the crown jewel as far as motorsports comes to North America, and Sirius has that. Indy quite frankly, it's building in popularity I feel, but it is still a distant second? F1 has been around for ever, and die hard motor sports fans love it. Just saying, it's a good pickup.
