Sirius and XM at NAIAS 2007
Click on the jump as Jake goes on to describe the booths (with photos) in full detail...
"XM had a large TV which flashed highlights of their products, and comfortable yellow seating for those who were walking a little too much. Near the middle of the display, they had a little odd-looking orb where two people could sit in and listen to XM content, while watching advertisements on a 32" screen above them. Around the sides of the space were multiple (functioning) XM devices, presumably every model from two years ago on. In addition, for the guests of NAIAS, a free 30-day trial version of XM Online was given away (signup at http://www.xmtrial.com/autoshow). For existing subscribers, a free radio would be given away.
SIRIUS' booth consisted of the Stiletto giveaway, three cars (Jeep, BMW, and a Ford F250), and a display similar to XM's (only more bunched together). SIRIUS was parked next to the Michigan International Speedway booth, where NASCAR driver and SIRIUS personality Tony Stewart's car was parked adjacent to the SIRIUS display. Right to the left of Stewart's car was the 2006 Nextel Cup trophy, sitting next to NASCAR Nextel Cup Champion (and XM personality) Jimmy Johnson's car.
Despite having minimal displays, Ford and GM took swings with their satellite radio deals up on the main floor. There were SIRIUS and XM stickers on almost every new production model from each company, but neither used it as a large-scale promotion (on the more higher-end models, such as the Shelby GT-500 Mustang and Harley Davidson F450 truck, the SIRIUS stickers were missing). Similarly, GM did not place any XM stickers on the new Camaro. Of course, the concept cars did not have any, either."
Special thanks to Jake for letting us be there with you!

Comments
Both XM and Sirius were spotlighted on NBC Sports' nationally-broadcast special about the Detroit Auto Show, which was on yesterday afternoon during the two hours before the Fox broadcast of the Bears-Saints game.
