Sirius Backseat TV: Now with a big remote!

We saw pretty much all there was to see of Sirius Backseat TV at CES, and we even learned of the monthly $6.99 price point shortly afterwards, but there was something new shown at Sirius headquarters yesterday...
A big remote!

Now, that's the kids remote mind you. But it's new nonetheless, and it's one of the small details about Sirius Backseat TV that I think parents will greatly appreciate. Follow the jump for more photos and info (including the official release date)...
Now we all know that Sirius Backseat TV will be available in new Chrysler vehicles (including the 2008 Town & Country super-people-mover).
But for those of us who want the aftermarket version, the Sirius Backseat TV SCV1 Audio/Video Tuner is the way to go (ok, so it's the only way to go).
The Sirius Backseat TV Audio/Video Tuner lets you receive both Sirius Radio and all the family-friendly TV programming (Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and Cartoon Network) in one system.

It also includes "multi-zone operation" which means that parents have full control in the front, while the kids have their own dedicated child-friendly remote in the rear. It's got big buttons. It's sturdy. And it's nice and fat so it won't slide in between the nooks and crannies of your minivan.
The SCV1 is compatible with most aftermarket and factory-install video monitors (requires an FM tuner or AUX input, and video monitors with NTSC and audio outputs). For most people, professional install is recommended (unless you're a hardcore DIYer).
Includes: SCV1 audio/video tuner module, wired display control unit, wireless audio remote control, wireless video remote control, remote eye (for rear-seat control), FM switching interface, and two magnetic mount antennas.
The Sirius Backseat TV SCV1 will go for an MSRP price of $299.99 and will be available in October 2007.

Comments
Okay with the kid's content, but why not a Sirius MTV? Have a couple music stations, like the radio, but with full videos going.

Martin, I'll ask you the same as I've asked others (but am not expecting an answer):
How often are you in the backseat of your own car? How often are other adults in the back of your car?

If they could just add one more channel, I would request 1 live news channel, so if something big happens news wise I can pull over on the side of the road and actually see it for myself.
(Hey Sirius are you listening) I want one of these for my truck, this product is also my lead story in my MultiChannel News column tommorow. :)

No Adult Swim block? :(
I'm surprised they don't include Boomerang in their offering...

How many music channels would you be willing to give up for such a channel?

Oh I could think of about 120 of them I don't listen to. :)
