Sirius Canada and Ford Canada Ink Long-Term Agreement - Orbitcast

FordFord Canada and Sirius Canada today have announced signing an agreement that will put SIRIUS Satellite Radio receivers as factory-installed equipments in "virtually" all Ford models sold in Canada by 2008. "Virtually" sounds like legal-speak for "pretty much standard but there's some hiccups in the production so let's just call it 'virtually' to protect ourselves."

Whatever the legal meaning, we know for sure that the Canadian 2007 model year lines will include the Ford Fusion, Mustang, Five Hundred, Freestyle, Ranger, Explorer, Sport Trac, Expedition, Expedition Max, Edge, Lincoln Navigator, MKZ, and MKX. So it's good news from the OEM front.

This is pretty good news for Sirius....especially if they are still counting unsold cars as new subscribers. Their numbers will have a hefty jump because of this deal as they did when they signed Audi and VW.

The press release says that the receiver is factory-installed... never says anything about it being standard on all vehicles. *Yawn*

"never says anything about it being standard on all vehicles"

Exactly what I was thinking TVGenius.

Why oh why don't car manufacturers make it standard equipment? Nobody cares about factory options!

Canada? This just proves that Howard is washed up! Party Rock! Hoo Hoo!
