Sirius CanadaThe folks over at Digital Home Pipeline reportedly have been informed that Sirius Canada will be adding a significant number of new channels to their roster.

According to insiders, 20 new channels will be added consisting of eighteen U.S. and two Canadian channels, giving Sirius Canada the same number of channels as their American counterpart.

"The two new Canadian channels are said to be traffic and weather channels for Toronto and Montreal, however, according to our sources this is not yet finalized. One alternative could be a traffic and weather channel for Vancouver."

Other than the local traffic weather channels, what is Sirius Canada missing that Sirius USA has?

"Sirius Canada's license prohibits them from broadcasting "localized" content such as local or regional newscasts, weather forecasts or traffic reports. As a result the Radio One feed does not include local programs or weather forecasts. Instead, the network's local programming blocks are filled with repeat airings of other CBC programming." -Wikipedia

rite now we have 1 us weather station and a manitoba thru british columbia station an ontario weather station and a quebec weather station are a must since most subscribers will be from those 2 regions. and im sure that the 18 other stations from the US will be a welcome addition to the lineup.

I have noticed that Sirius Canada is missing two channels that I am very interested in. I am able to hear them when I listen online, but they told me that is because the online player streams the US programming.

When you listen online, you are able to get two statios that I cannot get on my unit. There is a station called Lithium, which plays grunge and alternative rock from the 90's and there is a Punk station that plays all sorts of old and new punk.

I have dished out almost $1000 so far on a 2 year subscription and the Stiletto 100 and I can't even listen to all of the stations :(
