SIRIUS Canada, the Canadian spin-off of Sirius Satellite Radio, has issued a series of "strong letters" to certain resellers asking them to stop the selling of illegal "grey market" subscriptions to Sirius Satellite Radio.
This "grey market" is established by people (and dealers) getting or providing US addresses that allow Canadian residents to "illegally" obtain satellite radio service from SIRIUS.
SIRIUS Canada was created by the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) and Standard Radio Inc. in partnership with SIRIUS Satellite Radio, in an effort to enter the Canadian market legally. SIRIUS Canada has applied for a Canadian license, and is awaiting the decision of the CRTC (Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission).
