Sirius Canada surpases 500,000 subscribers
Sirius Canada has surpassed more than 500,000 paying subscribers, adding more than 200,000 since February. The company was the first to surpass the key 500,000 subscriber milestone in the 22 months since the category was first introduced.
Sirius Canada captured 82% of retail sales year-to-date according to figures released by The NPD Group. During the Father’s Day buying period Sirius bagged an incredible 88% market share of satellite radios sold.
The company’s automotive partners also, by their claim, make up nearly 60% of vehicle sales in Canada and since January 2007 have built more than 100,000 vehicles with factory-installed Sirius.

Congrats to Sirius. Wonder whats going to happen to them without the NHL now. Guess this'll ultimately determine if the contents worth the price or not.
Anyone have the XM Canada number?

Good news for Sirius. Just wondering if these are audited numbers or can be supported with publicly available financials? Sirius Canada claims 500,000 subscribers, I would really like to see some additional detail that supports this release (hey I hold stock in CSR and this could impact its price). Can anyone from Sirius comment on this claim and back it up?

Perhaps this proves the allure of the CBC and other Sirius Canada programming outside of just NHL. I have to admit I listen to CBC 3 // 94 and CBC 1 // 137 quite a bit.
And on MySpace, I saw a posting by one of the Iceberg // 95 DJs, which indicated Iceberg Radio is the number 2 most popular stream in Canada, and number 30 in the USA. I would love to see the complete lists of which Sirius streams are most / least popular. Has anyone run across them? XM would be nice too, if available.
