Sirius today is launching "Client 9 Radio" - a channel that they says will "explore the breaking news, facts, fallout, psychology, and implications of the scandal."
Vinnie Politan, the fan-favorite former Court TV Radio host, will be live in studio throughout the weekend to take calls from around the country, and offer expert legal advice and insight.
In addition to the live call-in shows, Client 9 Radio will include segments contributed by many Sirius hosts and experts from various fields such as:
- Judith Regan (host of Sirius' The Judith Regan Show) with Rachel Marsden (ex-girlfriend of Wikipedia founder who sold his stuff on eBay after he broke up with her via his website)
- Judith Regan, again, with private eye Vito Colucci, Jr. on catching spouses in the act
- Bill Bennett (host on Sirius Patriot) with Senator John McCain discussing the story
- Andrew Wilkow (host on Sirius Patriot) with New York GOP Assembly Leader James Tedisco
- Larry Flick (host on Sirius OutQ) with Ed Koch
- Ron Silver (host on Indie Talk) with Alan Dershowitz
- Alex Bennett (host on Sirius Left) with Dennis Hof, owner of Moonlight Bunny Ranch in Nevada on prostitutes and politicians
- And, of course, The Playboy Radio Morning Show will talking to high-priced prostitutes about the scandal

This sounds like an April Fools day joke, but this is March 14... unless you own a Delorean Time Machine :o)
and it will be a comedy channel...
Wow, the last one's the icing on the cake of this waste of a channel..
enough already.....
So they are launching a channel to discuss what people have already discussed for the past week and probably don't need to discuss anymore?
This is what XM listeners are in for after a merger.
Glad I don't have Sirius, anymore.
Dumbest programming choice ever, Sirius. As if it hasn't been talked about to death on all the talk channels already.
Another stupid PR stunt by SIRIUS...
I normally don't talk like this, but you've got to be fucking shitting me!
WTF???!!!
3 Days of talk about this BULLSHIT??!!
Why doesn't Sirius do something more productive like FIX THE FREAKIN' CHANNEL NAMES ON MY RECEIVER!!!
At least you don't have an all-Michael Jackson channel.....
Don't you guys know? Content is king. Sirius is the big content leader. This is how they did it!
This idea should've stayed in the pages of MAD magazine.
Talk about a waste of bandwidth!
Wow! That's all I can say. I'm speechless. This is the biggest waste of a channel ever. I could understand if they had a show dedicated to it, but an entire channel? You've got to be kidding me. Sirius is really dropping the ball in the programming department. They seemed to have come to a stand still since the announcement of their intent to merge with XM.
Maybe my car knew this was coming? My power outlet broke a week ago, so I ended up cancelling my receiver. Maybe this was for the better.
I hope this damn merger is shot down...what a bunch of crap. XM's programming will completely go down hill if this merger happens. What choice will we be left with...those of us in rural America?
Damn you Mel, Gary, and the BOD of both companies. You all are pissing on your subscribers.
So is everyone is listening to play by play on 126 right now?
Why do people care?
126 has no content on it now and will be back in time for the NCAA tourney. I would be really pissed if they took away content for this but they are simply ADDING more for a couple days during a dead period for sirius in play by play.
This might very well be the dumbest f88cking idea I have ever heard, and I have been listening to radio for nearly 50 years
>> At least you don't have an all-Michael Jackson channel.....
Unfortunately I do. I'm a dual sub.
You guys are such divas. It's one temporary channel that is normally crappy anyways. Go on with your lives and buy some more tampons.
And I am sure that if I asked why the hell they waste bandwith on Howard Stern just because I dont listen to it, then I would get flamed.
Its all about niche programming. If it gets a couple of listeners, who cares? It is just programming thrown on top of dead air. I SIRIOUSLY doubt they are spending much to produce it.
Actually, the more I think about it, the more it sounds like Karmazin has an ax to grind from Spitzer's days as Atty General cracking down on radio payola.

Hey,
I think that this "Cliant 9" radio is a good use of bandwith, and a very unique programming idea. They should do this more often! Keep up the inovative programming, Mell. Oh, and for those of you who don't like it, you don't have to listen. Turn the channel, or, better yet, go back to regular radio, where I'm sure that the bland programming there will match your tastes a little better.

This is what sat radio is about something for everybody. It takes away from nothing so why not. Take a look at this could it be true?

I have been listening to this channel over the weekend and it is clearly a well put together channel. Very interesting indeed.
