For those who aren't into reading FCC filings, here's the proposed post-merger A La Carte package line-up for Sirius Satellite Radio.
It's pretty much self-explanatory, so g'head check it out here and after the jump...
"Sirius Everything" is pretty much exactly what we have available today. Obviously XM and Sirius will be melding channels together that have overlapping formats.
Both A La Carte packages are revolutionary when it comes to media. If the cable companies did this, I guarantee that all of our bills would be lower. Hopefully this will set a precedence, because consumers undoubtedly benefit from this.
The reason why you don't see specifics for the "select XM" part is because each individual contract needs to be worked out with each content provider. I highly doubt that Sirius or XM have these contract modifications resolved at this point, so "select XM" is what you'll get for now.
I would expect a fairly large number of people opting for the Music Only or News/Talk/Sports packages. Many people don't stray beyond 3-4 channels in total.
