pfreak, I believe he was referring to the Arbitron Ratings of H101 which had twice as many listeners as the Virius. Granted those numbers might be skewed because of the howard west coast feed and all of the special programs and ferrell that are on that station.

Don't both of them have their own channel now? I thought Howard was all 100 and the other guys were on 101. I don't know the lineup since I do not subscribe to their service. No, this is not a knock on Sirius, I just thought the 101 channel was non-Howard programming.

No 101 is the West Coast feed tape delayed. Bubba is on from 3p-7p M/T and F from 6a-10a. Ferrall is 8p-Midnight M-F.

They will probably be able to give Howard 2 channels, bascially just mirror 100 3 hours later for Howard's West Coast audience, and then Bubba & Ferrall can take over at 202 so they can get a couple of replays during the afternoon.

I claim that I did not hear it because well I probably I did not. I went to college for 4 years in a town that had no coverage of Stern. The only time that I did listen to him was during fall, winter, spring and summer breaks when I drove to work. So yeah I probably did miss him talking about it. And so what if I did is it really causing an issue with you. How does my life really effect you that you care so much about my listening schedule.

Bubba is a douche, I couldn't give a shit about him. The lineup post-merger is going to be Howie and Ferrell on H100 and H101 (I'm not a Stern fan, but I'm not such a pest bigot not to realize that he's huge) and O&A and R&F on the Virus. Bubba will fall by the wayside and go back to all terrestrial. The boys and the buddies aren't leaving, because they're still one of the most listened to channels on XM (no matter whether or not you believe the horseshit Arbitron numbers).

Maybe they'll be put under a gag order, or maybe there will be a bit of an in-house rivalry, but they aren't going to alienate a significant amount of their audience by killing the Virus and doing something idiotic like putting Bubba's reruns on it (that'll have, what, 3 listeners at any moment? Bubba The Love Sponge will be doing both Sirius and FM radio beginning in January. Bubba will return to the Tampa Bay, Florida airwaves and even the Jacksonville airwaves on 102.5 The Bone in Tampa, for mornings and then Sirius in the afternoons. Great move on his part.

Got Sirius for Stern...waited an entire year before finally giving Bubba a shot. Now, I kinda like his show. After all it is a show...for entertainment purposes only...tried listening to O and A years ago on testicle radio, never got into them that much. Sterns show was more my brand of humor. Thats whats brilliant about life...we can all do and say what we want, as long long as its what YOU yourself would want. I refer to the song Eye of the Beholder by Metallica. But sites like these are fun to look at and read...as all you girls get your panties in a bunch. As if all of our lives would stop if any of these shows go away. Its just sad. lol

It took a little while to get used to Bubba. But he is good and funny and the bits they do are fantastic. They seem to be more my type of crowd anyway - folks I would have a beer with. However, Howard is the man and he can do no wrong. Long live the King!

I've been listening to Stern for years. So let's clarify, he only mentioned Bubba a handful of times during his KROCK days. That's it. Of all the competing dj's out there, Bubba's mentions were relatively tame. As for O and A, I have no issues with them, but they apparently like to brainwash their fans into this "Howard vs Us" thing. Since Howard's been on Sirius, he's probably talked about O and A maybe 2 or 3 times and mostly because they were brought up on the news.

I, along with many others, enjoy listening to Stern and his channel's programming (Bubba and Ferrall). What gets annoying is reading all of the comments from O and A fans. Listen to them if you're a fan and I'll listen to my favorites.

If Sirius and XM finally merge (which would be great), I'll give OA a shot and even listen to Ron and Fez (who I have never heard). If I like them, great, if not, no big deal. I'll give them the same shot I gave Bubba. I wasn't a fan right away of the Bubba show, but I gave it a shot and found it quite funny. I don't love everything on the Stern channels, but the shows I don't care for, I simply don't listen to.

Life on H101 woundn't be the same without Bubba. I came for Howard but stay for him.

I've heard Howie mention O&A minimum of 20 - 25 times and I don't listen to him very often. And it's never in response to anything. It's just howie trying to spin a story that they suck & he's great. Fact is, he's forgotten. Other than the people here there aren't that many people listening to SDARS at all and even less to howie. You have to be on FM to be in the public eye. It's a great move for Bubba and a move stern wishes he could make.

BTW, Ferrall is the worst DJ ever. Living in NYC for a few years and listening to WFAN I know his awful show well. Worst voice and show in radio period. Plus the guy is a douche.

It seems to me Bubba splitting mornings on terrestrial radio and afternoons on Sirius would benefit both mediums. The FM gig could pull listeners to the satellite brand. Bubba smoked Tampa for years. Win-win in my opinion.

glad you guys are staying on, i had never heard of the bubba show before sirius although i had been a stern fan for a number of years and while i will say i didn,t take to your frantic tampa cadence right off (being from canada eh) i stuck with it and now count you as a valuable member of the 100/101 family.
