Sirius S50 on eBay's Top 10 Most Wanted Gadgets

Sirius S50 on eBayThe Sirius S50 Satellite Radio Receiver is on eBay's Top 10 Most Wanted Gadgets, and is in the top 5 even.

The S50 was only beat out by the likes of the T-Mobile Sidekick II, the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT, the Garmin GPS Forerunner and, of course, the Nintendo DS Lite.

Those are some heavy lifters, so ranking #5 (beating the iPod thankyouverymuch) is a pretty impressive accomplishment.

I love my S50, but I dunno about it being more wanted than ipods. But I don't think ebay has any reason to lie so I guess it is true.

I have never seen one on display without the love knob thing missing. Ive read countless reviews, and a good amount say its a royal pain in the ass gadget. Glitchy and buggy. But, people need their Stern.

Damn tussel, anything Sirius has to be negative. Why can't you say congrats once in a while. The S50 has the knob broken because people come over and pull on it, play around to rough with it, and the employees don't care about it. Every product needs to be watched out for. The one in my store is in great shape and will remain that way as long as I have an eye on it.

But..... why? That's like anticipating a single brick for Christmas.

If it were any good, I'd have bought one long ago. Instead, I settled for a cheap Audiovox. Luckily, I basically got Sirius for Howard and the NFL - the music is a nice bonus, but have my Ipod for that- so sound quality isn't all that important to me. I wonder if people think it's a live, on-the-go receiver. Sirius doesn't exactly publicize that it's not.

Are you kidding me? It does not even do live radio. I am willing to bet my lunch that is not based on numbers but based on the marketting factor.

Look on eBay for an S50 and see how many are for sale and how many are being bid on.

If they are in fact in demand it is because EVERYONE is selling that hyped hunk of junk

BTW, as of 9:14 am Friday aAug 111, there are only 4 S50s on eBay. Yeah, high demand.

I'm a little confused. If this is on the "top wanted" list, that means people are searching for it and/or have it on the eBay "Want-it-now" thingy, right?

In either case, doesn't that mean the S50 is overpriced at retail? Or does it mean there are a lot of unwanted ones on the auction block? Or Both?

Its good for what I use it for. I never attached it to the car arm and I bought a cigarrette lighter converter so I can carry it around everywhere I go. In fact, I took it to Vegas with me last week and listened to it in my room.

Scheduled recording is nice also.

As for "bugs and glitches", the only problem I ever had was fixed after a channel update. My sandivaginosis level is pretty low with that kind of stuff. If you're a moron, I could see how that 5 minutes of your time can be annoying.

And good god, if people still think its an on the go receiver, I hope they buy it and are annoyed.

Clearly, you're giving the general public way more credit than they deserve. People no longer read anything.

I've got one of these and all i can say is that it should be priced at around $129.99. if it was a true portable i could see the massive fuck me in my ass price i bought it for. It is very easy to use and i love saving songs and shows and uploading mp3's. I still haven't carried it around on my person. I can't give it my blessing on the top ten. GIVE ME A CHEAP FUCKING PORTABLE

Come on now and think, If it is in high demand there will be fewer for sale. I am not a S50 fan just pointing that out.

Maybe they determine this by the number of searches for "S50" and there are tons of people doing searches because they want to see what they can get for theirs?
