SIRIUS Satellite Radio Debuting Metropolitan Opera Channel

Metropolitan Opera RadioSIRIUS Satellite Radio has teamed up with the Metropolitan Opera to create a new channel for opera lovers, appropriately named Metropolitan Opera Radio, set to debut on Monday, September 25th.

The debut airing will feature a live broadcast of the Met's opening night gala performance of Puccini's Madama Butterfly, conducted by Music Director James Levine and directed by Anthony Minghella.

Metropolitan Opera Radio (ch 85) will feature an average of four live broadcasts each week throughout the Met's 2006-07 performance season, as well as Saturday matinee performances with live interviews and intermission programming. The channel will also feature hundreds of re-mastered historic broadcasts from the Met's 75-year history.
