Huh? its been like this for years, XM reports first SIRI reports second. SIRI was smart to do this so their good news can trump XM news, takes XM out of the news very fast if SIRI news is good...as it has been now for the last year

Actually, both calls are a bitter later than normal. Neither will have great news. Sirius will focus on the Stiletto for the holiday season, XM on the SkyFi3. Perhaps both will have some juicy surprises for the holiday.

Not sure how you think its good news. With subscriber numbers dropping and the upcomming churn and admission of 8% of subs being unsold cars as well as increasing losses. The only good news was that they netted more subs than XM.

In just about every industry, the earnings reports for the top few compeditors are generally released within days of each other. I think the order is pretty well fixed as well because my previous employer always released their earnings between those of our two major compeditors.

Seems to me that Sirius likes to play "follow the leader".

Quarterly reporting for both Satrad firms. It's about time...I haven't lost 25K in the portfolio in about three months !

Only in America can CEO's lose .5-1.0 billion per year, for many years, lose more subs than the net, sell their insider shares before the major slide and STILL keep their jobs while getting paid a few million a year.

its not great news but its news that is "better then xm".

when you only have one competitor you only need your news to be better. Also i would not hype on churn since XM churn numbers are currently hurting more then SIRI.

oh well when the numbers come out 60/40 AGAIN what will people say? how many consecutive Q's do we need it to be before you say SIRI has their shit together vs XM. hmmm.

Well Pness, 60/40 could be the net again, XM's Chun will be more in total. at last report they had 6 million self paying subscribers while sirius had 3 million. The rest of the subscribers were in promotional periods or periods provided for with the purchace of the car. With all this XM grossed 940,000 new subs while sirius grossed 840,000.
What that says is that the churn rates are nearly Identical. So Pness I have a question for you. If the churn rates are Identical inpercentage and sirius gets less gross than XM and Sirius continues to spend more than XM did when XM had 3-4 million subs. How will sirius do better? I can forsee a day when sirius passes XM on total subscriber numbers that include all auto's with the 1 year promotion simply cause they are unchurnable. but this will not be a profitable group nor will Sirius surpass XM in self paying subscribers. There is much more to the Churn SAC CPGA and total subscriber numbers than anyone lets on. The truth will come out soon enough.

Why would anyone engage you in a conversation? The only thing I could learn from you I already know, you know nothing. It's easy to take any numbers and twist them to make them support your conclusion. Fact is, Jeff's right and don't know nearly what you would like to think you do.
