Whose estimates did Sirius not beat? SSG has posted that Sirius has exceeded the "consensus" street estimates.

If Sirius didn't hit someone's estimate, please post which one they didn't hit.

Not really a big deal either way, it's a damn good Q3.

interesting to see 4th now--HUGE Q to get to 6.3

2nd quarter sirius picked up 202,460 more subs than xm . this quarter sirius picked up 156,101 more subs than xm . at this rate of growth it will take 13+ quarters to tie xm (that over 3 years) . in that amount of time xm should have enough subs to be profitable .

"interesting to see 4th now--HUGE Q to get to 6.3"
I'm not so sure. How many car "subscribers" get produced in the 4th quarter? ;)

The difference between XM's & SIRI's numbers is largely closed when you adjust for (a) XM discontinuing the practice of counting rental vehicles, and (b) the churn on the difference in the overall size of the two subscriber bases (essentially, churn on around 2M subscribers for 3 months). Take away the increase in Sirius Parking Lot Subscribers and you've more than accounted for the difference.
The numbers are pathetic for both companies. Sirius adding 1.2M in Q4 seems like a pipe dream.

Interesting that Sirius's stock nosedived this morning on the announcement to it's usual under $4 price while XM's stayed solidly 3x that of Sirius.

Ass Hat of all Orbitcast?
You gonna mail him your crown?
Shares outstanding:
SIRI: 1,405,115,000
XMSR: 268,193,700
Its hard to say which company is in worse shape at this point. But simple prices arent the way to do so.
Posted by: MarkS ? | October 4, 2006 2:57 PM
MarkS not sure what shares outstanding have to do with it, just means one has diluted his shares more then the other....but even after that siri is still worth 70% more.
i would say significant decline in growth at XM vs significant growth at Siri puts XM in a serious bad place..
Posted by: PNess ? | October 4, 2006 3:13 PM
My fat fingers cant do math.
Still the Sirius operating losses are higher than XM if I recall correctly.
Posted by: MarkS ? | October 4, 2006 3:29 PM
...and?
we were talking about companies stock and worth.
regardless of loss or earnings...siri is valued more.
right or wrong...lol

Lets not forget that the parking lots at dealer tend to decrease during the 3rd quarter due to new model year coming at the end of quarter. So your crying about parking lot totals does (never has really) is ridiculouse especially for the 3rd quarter.

Pness, you can spin the numbers anyway you want. You do seem to get extremely upset and vulgar when anything negative w/Sirius is pointed out. But you are right when you say Sirius shares are ridiculously diluted. You're the same know-it-all that thinks Oprah has no fans.

What will it take??? You people, just as did "terristrial radio" refuse to acknowledge the "Stern affect". To me,you have virtually NO credibility. Just as the "main stream media" has chosen, you too will fall in his wake. It is ALL about being entertained. You just DON'T get it.
