Sirius Stiletto 2Sirius has taken the wraps off of the new Sirius Stiletto 2, something that we all knew was going to happen less that two weeks ago.

Here's the breakdown of the features and highlights:

  • Store 100 hours of content
  • The Stiletto 2 is smaller (1.9" x 4.3" x 0.6") and lighter (4.3 oz)
  • Enhanced 802.11 b/g WiFi now supports commercial hotspots (username/password options now available)
  • MicroSD slot for expandable MP3 storage
  • Support for any Windows Media-based music store
  • Sirius Replay, which allows users to pause, rewind and replay 60 minutes of live radio programming
  • Radio Replays - stored music broadcasts from your favorite music channels that create "virtual channels" - these are available even when you have no WiFi or Sirius signal (awesome)
  • Altec Lansing will supply new antenna headphones (model # AHP202SIR) for the Stiletto 2. Featuring 30mm drivers and an adjustable headband for increased comfort.
  • Battery life: 4 hours live satellite, 10 hours WiFi, 20 hours of pre-recorded content
  • MSRP: $349.99 (vehicle kit: $49.99; executive system: $149.99)
  • The Sirius Stiletto 2 will be available in Fall 2007

Wow, I want one. May I say, the Stiletto 2 looks like it blows the Inno out of the water.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

lets see the new head phone antenna.....its a nice looking device for sure..

The capability of premium internet streaming through it? I want one. I've been running a 20 ft. audio cable from my computer to my receiver to get the higher kb/s, this is awesome. Now I can only hope the new Stiletto is compatible with my current home and car docks, but I won't hold my breath.

I must say it does look very very sexy. However, honestly I was expecting more then this. I'm somewhat let down. Streaming premium content was long overdue in my opinion. I'll buy one anyways (if its al a cart capable...).
Also, whats with that ugly wheel on the bottom btw..Does anyone else like the wheel at the bottom? I find that it uses up way to much space..and it makes the unit look odd/ugly.

May I say, the Stiletto 2 looks like it blows the Inno out of the water.

Ryan, ..... The Inoo is now about 2 years old. This thing better blow away the INNO.... I like the SD slot, I like the 100 hours of recording time.

I do not like the price tag.

well, it should...they've had a year or so to work on it.

give XM a year to simply improve on someone else's innovation, and you'll get a portable that will make you a starbuck's cappuccino with a smile each time you tune to Cafe45.

Okay, it's smaller, but not a lot smaller. The battery life is unchanged, so I doubt there have been any heat improvements. The improved wireless is good, but will it carry the premium feed? But what about recordng online content? And considering it is NARROWER than the previous model, it better just come with a little adapter for the old docks, like how the Nano fits into the standard iPod dock with a little insert. Who wants to be this isn't the case?

I only have a Stiletto 10, so I imagine I might get one just to upgrade the storage capacity and WiFi. I still need to set up having my computer rip stuff for my iPod, because these Stillettos are just too big for the gym.

The SD slot is a very good addition, but is it just for MP3s? Let's use the slot to jack up the Sirius recording features up to 400 hours! Actually, it would be 500 with the onboard memory. It's a simple thing!

Also, is the power switch still the hold switch? A guy mentioned on here that he often turns his Stiletto off by accident, and I realize I do too. This one is simply a matter of listening to users instead of developers.

Let's see the headphones, and why not an antennae? I just dismembered the original unit's headphones to make a transportable (independent of a dock) antennae. I hope Altec's involvement means a better designed plug. The dock connection itself seems fine, but that big plastic hunk around it was amateurish.

I've always liked the look of Sirius' equipment much more even though XM carries the only content I'm interested in. I certainly hope the merger happens so I can get the XM channels on a Sirius unit.

As the owner of a Helix, this looks like a nice piece- but just wait the requesite 12 months before jumping in, so you can buy it for $50 with three months free service, no activation fee and other freebies.

The only feature that blows away the Inno is the replay feature. Everything else... still unneccesarrily large and odd shaped, still poor battery life and STILL CAN'T schedule exactly shows, only lame "Virtual Channels". Ugh. At least you can finally "love" a song I guess--something the Inno has done since day 1.

Removeable memory is nice if you use it for MP3s, I don't. 100% XM on my Inno, thank you. WiFi is great too if you satrad company hates repeaters like Sirius and doesn't let you schedule your recordings (due to ofcourse bowing down to the RIAA).

If the headphones stick in your ear instead of padded over the ear I'm going to scream! Those stick in your ear headphones are the worst!

MicroSD slot for expandable MP3 storage

damn i might have to retire mine to my wife and get this bad boy

I own the stilleto 100 and this does not seem to much af a difference. Not impressed. They should be raising the bar alot EVERYTIME they put something new out. I love my stiletto have no real problems with it but I mean why would I pay anotehr 350 for the same thing?

It's the same crappy unit repackaged. Unless they can make it significantly smaller, have longer battery life, be able to record whatever you want and delete unwanted content (commercials, songs you don't want) and actually recieve a signal (especially without the awful antenna headphones) it is useless. Compare the Inno to the MyFi. That was a leap forward in technology. This is a money grab for a fading segment of the market. I'd call it style over substance but I I don't even find this stylish.

Seems like nothing more than a slight upgrade. I have an s100 and I can already stream PREMIUM internet radio. The new phones seem nicer and I like the SD card slot. But the rest seems like it's all the same. The interface looks only a teeny bit different, maybe more polished. But something that Zing could easily release o the s100 if they wanted to I bet. Oh, it's a bit smaller, but I don't use it a whole lot for portable use so I find my s100 just fine.

25% smaller, double battery life and removable storage. I call that improved.

I thing it is a MINOR remake of the original Stiletto. Yes it has removal memory plus the Antenna headphones but that seems to be it !!! I'm keeping my Stiletto (1) for now. Any FYI the Inno was released in MAY 2006, 1 year ago , NOT 2.

XZI, do you have a clue about what you are talking about?

1. the new sl2 is smaller than the INNO
2. You have always been able to schedule shows with the SL10 and SL100, plus they have always shadow recorded (Virtual channels).
3. You are able to "Love" songs with the SL100 (not the 10). This is a feature the S50 also had (way before the INNO was released)
4. If XM's geostationary satellites provided the coverage that Sirius geo sychronis satellites do, they wouldnt need as many repeaters. do you remember what happened 2 months ago when 1 of XM's birds had a stroke? How great was XM's repeater network then???Both companies have signal issues. you're just an ignorant idiot.
5. Who would not want more storage space for MP3's? Apple sells more Ipods in a year than Sirius and XM radios combined.

All of the extra features the SL2 sports like wifi, sd slot, virtual channels, etc; only suck now, but once XM release their INNO2 with similar features you'll be on here applauding XM.

Hopefully they improved on the RF reception, if it's anything like the previous model you won't see me over to Sirius just yet. I live in a high-rise apartment complex facing the east so I depend on the repeater system. XM does a great job with that around the city, I can go just about anywhere outside with my big ol' Delphi XM2go down in the jeans pocket with no antenna headphones and pick up a steady skip free signal. Sirius just didn't even compare with the 1st gen Stiletto when I tried it, I would like to make the switch over to Sirius which is the reason I haven't upgraded to a Inno on XM just yet but Sirius needs to improve the reception of their portal players... Their antenna headphones were a absolute joke.

the new sl2 is smaller than the INNO

philmore, its a little more narrow but taller than the inno so its NOT smaller.

Bloody Cape,

If you were to place the Inno in a tub of water, it would displace more water than the Stiletto 2. I believe this how they measure the size of naval vessels as well. The Stiletto 2 is indeed smaller than the Inno. Just the facts, no hype intended.

philmore:

1. it's not smaller. ONE dimension is smaller. it is overall, still larger, sorry.
2. my understanding was it can't schedule, only record favorite chanenls. maybe that was the S50-- but either way i remember it being more limited than inno's scheulded recording feature. Virtual Channels is in lieu of Inno's feature set, not complimentary. Again, maybe I'm confused on this one with the S50 though.
3. You can only "love" live listening. WIth Inno, you can lock from recorded content--essentially allowing you to make a playlist without actually listening to any of the music or waiting for it to be played first. Sweet right? Now you're jealous after all ;)
4. Be that as it may, they DO have those repeaters and thus much MUCH better portable coverage without the need for WiFi. All you did here was prove me right. Thanks.
5. People probably do. I don't. Then again, I DON'T STEAL MY MUSIC....

I'm not saying the Inno is perfect, but it's still better than the SL2 IMO.

Stiletto 2 /1.9″W x 4.3″H x 0.6″D 4.3 ounces
Inno / 2.3125″W x 4.4375″H x .625″D 4.5 ounces

lets remember people , were arguing that the 2nd generation stiletto is better than the 1st gen inno . until inno 2 is released (i'm guessing xmas) this is not a fair comparison but maybe the closest sirius will ever come to topping xm with their dog shit radios .

XZI,

1. The SL2 is smaller than the INNO. Do the math!
2. Again, in addition to the virtual channels you are able to schedule recordings. The S50, SL10, SL100 have had that feature, now the SL2 does too.
3. Im not jealous cause i can go through scheduled recordings on my S50 and "Love" songs that i wasnt in front of my radio to listen to ;)~
Sirius did not add this feature to the Stiletto family due to the RIAA telling them they couldnt. Since XM decided to add that feature to the INNO and Helix, they are being SUED!!!
4. INNO has spotty portable coverage as does my SL100. Again your an ignorant idiot for thinking 1 system is better than the other. BTW I walk from Penn station to my office 12 blocks away every day with my SL100 clipped on my belt and i use regular earbuds with zero dropouts. At my home on LI i have my SL100 clipped on my ride on mower and i use the earbud headphones with dropouts occuring only when im under the big tree in my backyard. So i dont have these "Signal issues" you speak of.
5.i dont STEAL music either. I subscribed to Yahoo Unlimited service so i PAID $120 for 2 years of unlimited downloads. Yahoo finds all the songs i tagged as "Favorites" on my SL100, which i download for FREE (part of my subscription). This is thanks to the SL100 supporting Microsofts Play For Sure media. can your INNO do that????

Does anyone know about what time the Stiletto 2 will be available for purchase?

Please let me know via the comments-I would appreciate it, since I can't find out any release date info

Thanks
