Sirius to announce Q4 and full-year results in two weeks

Sirius

Sirius Satellite Radio plans to release its 4th quarter and full year 2007 financial and operating results in two weeks: on Tuesday, February 26th.

Sirius also will hold a conference call at 8am ET to discuss these results.

As always, you'll be able to listen to the conference call online and on Sirius channel 126.

UPDATE: It was pointed out in the comments - and definitely should be highlighted - that this is a departure from the "normal" procedure. Historically, Sirius has always waited for XM to announced their earnings call and release date. This time around, they have decided to make the first move.

UPDATE 2: It was also pointed out that this is the same day the FCC meets, though Sirius' call is at 8am while the FCC will meet at 9:30am.

I'm really confused Ryan. Sirius always seems to wait to announce after XM announces. What's the deal? XM hasn't announced an earnings date yet have they??? Very strange.

You're absolutely correct. I'll make sure to highlight that in the post. Not really sure why, but this is a break away from the status quo.

Because the Merger will be done by then?

You don't think they ran the numbers in advance, do you?

XM is waiting until they finally hit 9mm subscribers before they announce their 4Q and full year earnings. It's sad that we are half way through Februaury and they still haven't hit their year end subsciber goal yet!

Sirius is making the first move because they want to fuck with The Street just a bit more. SIRI has always been motivated by speculation and hype. So by doing this they get the easily-swayed investors to think "something is happening."

Don't read into it too much. It's just a press release.

this is also the day the FCC meets....

however, the conference call is before they meet. I think it would have been a more positive sign to have the call after the close of the day to give time for the FCC to possibly release their merger decision

Is this the day the FCC meets?

I have been following these equities since early '03 and this is not the first time Sirius will have their quarterly conference call before XM. Clayton would have calls before Parsons.

While it is true that Sirius used to have its call before XM, it hasn't since the Old Days, and one really has to wonder whether this departure is merger-related.

If the merger will be consummated before the end of Feb, there would be no reason to hold a CC at all for Xm, as all its shares would be held by Sirius, and former XM shareholders will own about half (probably a little more) of Sirius.

Of course, it could be meaningless, as well.

Just because XM has not ANNOUNCED their earnings CC, doesnt mean necessarily that XM will announce after Sirius. XM could come out tommorrow and state that they will release earnings on Monday before Sirius.

However, it does seem strange. It has always been the other way around, but I am not looking in to it too much, though my merger approval announcement date has been between Feb 15th and Feb 29th, so maybe it does bode well....

I never use caps on my name, troll. Or would that be "0.0". Fucking cunt.

awesome site keep up the good work!!!! spread the love
