Sirius to sneak peek Grateful Dead Channel

Sirius Satellite Radio will be given deadheads a sneak peek at their upcoming Grateful Dead channel from August 1st through August 9th.
Jam_On (ch 17), which normally is Sirius' home for jam bands, will be taken over by the Dead for this special preview (no worries, Jam_On's regular programming will return on August 10th).
The Grateful Dead Channel will officially launch sometime later this summer (which isn't too far away). The channel will feature music spanning the band's entire career with unreleased concert recordings, and special commentary from remaining members (Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Phil Lesh and Bob Kreutzmann).
Other features will include memories and music from members of The Grateful Dead's tight-knit musical family tree, as well as rare archival interviews with Jerry Garcia himself.

Comments
Looking forward to this channel. I wonder what else may appear, or be removed, with this next lineup change?

That explains why XM's Big Tracks dropped their Friday night Grateful Dead show - the announcer simply said "that's the last show- they got a better offer elsewhere-" and that was that.

Max - The Dead Hour was on Deep Tracks. Is that what you meant?
This is the one thing Sirius has that i want. Well a true jam band channel would be better. But Sirius has that too.

That was only speculation. We still don't know, but this would be an indication, anyway, that Jam On will live on even after the GD channel is added. Sirius is clearly the home of Dead fans and jam band fans.

I sell XM and love it...but I might have to get Sirius just for this channel...Does this really mean that the Grateful Dead hour is done on Deep Tracks? That would be a huge botch by XM.
