SIRIUS vs XM: Website Traffic (the truth)
Bridge Ratings just released a traffic analysis pitting XM vs SIRUS in a head-to-head competition, using Alexa - the purpose is to show the interest in each satellite radio provider. Alexa, for those who don't know, has a toolbar installed on about 10 million browsers that reports surfing behavior, so it's a pretty reliable stastical sampling.
Unfortunately, Bridge Ratings got it wrong. (Yes, that's right, I'm calling them out.)
Here's a quote from the study:
"Data show that XM reaches 35 users for every million while Sirius attracts 660 for every million users - over 18x XM's reach."
Now, does that raise any eyebrows for anyone? 18 times the reach? Isn't that shockingly excessive? Upon further analysis of the analysis (goddamn I'm funny), you'll notice that the Alexa numbers are comparing xm.com against sirius.com. And the problem there is... xm.com is just spam site. The real website, as we all know, is xmradio.com.
So let's take an accurate look at the traffic between the two websites shall we? Below are live stats straight from Alexa comparing xmradio.com to sirius.com:
I think I'm done here. Sorry Dave.
UPDATE: Wow, that was fast. Bridge Ratings literally just updated the report to reflect the accurate numbers. Wonder if they're reading this? (hi guys!)

I have a boombox and skyfi2 running on reg duracells and I get 12 hours use before new ones are needed. Is This normal and what kind of rechargeables would be the longest lasting for this power hungry thing. It is an xm: dont know if that matters. Are some more efficient users than others? I went to xm official website and they offer no batteries or info about them or any warning about how expensive it is to run on batteries (I have no electricity so no choice in this) Thanks for any light you can shed on this.
