When Sirius XM Radio renewed its contract with Bubba The Love Sponge for two years, the one thing that both parties failed to mention was the exclusive rights behind the contract. Fans learned those exact details yesterday when they heard turned on their satellite radios to hear replays from Bubba's FM radio show.
The regular shows that fans heard on Sirius and XM, from 3-7pm ET, are now replaced with syndicated airings from Bubba's terrestrial radio show from Monday through Thursday.
On Friday mornings, Bubba will broadcast exclusively on Sirius XM in his originaluncensored format.
The change has been met with a lot of criticism by Bubba The Love Sponge fans, many of whom enjoyed the exclusive and uncensored nature of the show.
For the past year, Bubba has been working the double shift: doing a show on FM in the morning, and again on Sirius in the afternoon. It's a schedule that must be grueling, but still this isn't the option that Bubba says he wanted when he addressed fans' complaints on his website.

I too am disappointed in the testicular rebroadcast but there's no way he could continue that grueling schedule.
It's unfortunate that Sirius didn't have the money to resign Bubba in an exclusive manner citing lack of cash. Instead they pissed away money on "The Mad Dog" who is really unknown outside of NY and the likes of Oprah and Martha who really don't contribute to the overall growth of Sirius.
On top of that they wasted money on Oral & Anal (as little as it was) however those two dingleberries would gladly work for less money as they surely haven't taken advantage of the silver platter they were handed once Stern left.
I guess some Bubba is better than no Bubba and it beats the hell out of the alternative - Oral, Anal, Ron & Pez

Empty promises on the exlusive specials - I'll believe it when I hear it.... Listening yesterday I felt a little like I just went back 3 years. It's one thing to listen to the watered down FM show but he spent most of the time I was listening catching the new listeners up on his history.
I don't really care if they can't cuss on the show I just want them relaxed and having fun again. As I've said before they've just been going through the motions for the past year.
This Friday show better be off the hook if they're going to make us sit through the lame FM show all week. Really there's no reason they couldn't cram all the best elements of the uncensored show into the Friday show. I bet at the end of the day Tim Sabian is actually happy about this - he only has to pay attention to Bubba one day a week.

What a work, bubba knew a month ago when he signed with multiple affiliates that he wasn't going to do two shows, and Sirius didn't want the word out before christmas, so everyone would still go out and buy radios. What a bunch of crooks, I have lost all repect fot Bubba, and Howard has been phoneing it in since he went to four days a week, but atleast we still had bubba.
I had a lot of repect for him working two jobs, but he turned out to be all about the money too, I guess thats what happens when you hang out with Howard in the Hamptons, you forget where you come from. Why not do a uncensered show right after the moring show and just play it two or three hours later then you don't have to work 10 hours a day, what a bunch of sellout pussys!!!

Those comparing Bubba to o&a are missing one key thing...O&A do their terrestrial show as a simulcast, and then do AT LEAST 2 hours as a SiriusXM (the XM is silent) exclusive daily. So everyday, we get 2 hours of mostly uncensored (thanks lawyers) O&A.
Bubba is doing his FM show only, and giving you 1 day of the unfiltered content. O&A have the best realistic idea. Ron & Fez doing FreeFM & XM exclusives was the best for the fans, but isn't really feasible for a long period of time.
This has no bearing on which show is better, it's just a statement on where satellite/terrestrial is probably heading.
Bubba's network will continue to grow. Hopefully Sirius will drop some dead talent and spend their money more wisely on people that actually increase listenership.

I'm saddened by the fact that it's a replay of a FCC regulated morning show, but then, other than the Friday show and a few minutes during the day when I'm on lunch and Howard is in commercial, that's all I listen to Bubba. I'm still a fan of Bubbba, but a bigger fan of uncensored freedom. Money is king and Bubba is getting his bread buttered on FM and I say, more power to him. I don't listen to Sirius for just him. To be honest I enjoy hearing the edited Bubba, the uncensored was a bit much for me all the time. The same reason I probably enjoy the first 3 hours of Opie and Anthony more than the last three. However I enjoy the XM Sirius versions of the show not the regular radio.

I cancelled Sirius, the Bubba show is now unlistenable. I bought Sirius because it was supposed to be commercial free and now Bubba breaks every 15 min for words even Howard has gone down hill lately-he seems miserable to be on the air. If you call to cancel they will offer you all kinds of incentives to stay, such as free months of sirius or a free second radio. Remember you can downlaod music to your ipod and plug that into your car stereo. $144 buys a lot of songs.

I have a Stiletto 2 and the fact that I will have to pay EXTRA for a basic feature of the unit, wireless internet access, is a deal killer for me.
ANYONE with any of the Stiletto units knows that the satellite reception is NON-EXISTENT indoors and spotty, at best outdoors.
For Sirius to place a premium on their portable unit is the height of arrogance.
Why anyone would pay for a Stiletto now when they can simply use an iPhone and the internet is beyond me.
