Sirius and XM just announced that they will extend their agreement to merge until May 1st, 2008. Actually, the verbiage is that the companies "have agreed not to exercise their rights to terminate" but it means essentially the same thing.
The interesting thing is that they chose 2 months as their window of extension. One would hope that the extra time would be enough for the DOJ and FCC to come to a decision, but we thought the same thing back in December as well.
Either way, the saga continues...

This is embarrassing how long this is taking. If the reject it after stalling this long they should all be fired and a whole new system for evaluating anti trust issues should be created. I cant imagine after meeting with all the concession people 25 freaking times that they are going now say, you know what, were just gonna go with no on this one...if thats the case, it will be a case study for college kids one day about how inefficient our govt is and how that lead to killing to companies that really could have forced good competition for other audio products...this truly is sad...
