That's the Sirius-XM that I love...no gimmicks!
Hi,
Good morning
Stumbled upon some link relating to Michael Jackson and discovered your site, wanted to try out Sirius-XM radio but dont have a clue where to begin and could not find any instructions how to do so....
:(
Perhaps for Tech challenged Moms you could have some basic info here...??
Just thought you'd like to know.
Thank you
I am so sad about michal & farah we lost 2 angels of God.
I like it! Too bad they don't throw in remixes, rarities, etc.,!
Woopy Shit!!!!!!!
Let's make some money off a dead guy!!!
Fair enough for M. Jackson fans (more than likely not more than a handfull on SatRad) but what's this got to do with Led Zepplin or the Allman Brothers???
Thank goodness for streaming radio or WNCW/88.7's Saturday Night House Party = Blues (on the open air waves for damn free!!) where I can listen to better stuff than SiriusXM has to offer lately.
Mel & Greenstein: all too tragically your ship is sinking............
Raaaaammmooonnneeee....America's playgrounds are now a little safer...oh uncle paul...
Oh come on, stop being such a bunch of blowhards.
This is one of the biggest stories in the news and entertainment world right now.
Michael Jackosn was also a HUGE worldwide pop music star. He's someone has the name value and career of hit songs to merit a "limited engagement" channel like this.
I am not a MJ fan at all, but I find SAT rad fans/listeners on the comments here Orbitcast ,constantly bitching and moaning.
Sirius XM is trying to doing something that is very timely and has a legitmate audience. It's also a credible project if Quincy Jones is contributing to it.
Just because your personal taste in music or enterainment were stroked, does not mean you have esoterically piss and moan.
XM last year had a tribute channel as Triller was released 25 years ago. It was a good tribute then and is a good tribute now. Also Heart & Soul #62 had callers paying tribute & playing MJ music that night of his passing. Well done Channel 62 and enough of "make a Buck" responses.
Why, did his music improve any by dying?
Ding Dong the pedo's dead.
First the Virus, now this?
I see Sirius is continuing on with tribute channels for those who have died, or had their careers go down the toilet.
Keep it up! Maybe we'll have a ron n pez memorial news break.

So can we expect a channel tht is going to play all the Billy Mays infomercials next?
I feel you Oompa Loompa, a station that replays mainly old material of someone who hasn't been relevant in years is stupid... Considering we already have two called Howard 100 and Howard 101.
O and A got resigned and are part of the iPhone app (and Blackberry for that matter). How does Howard stand on both topics?
Did I call this or what?!
Well O n A will pretty much bend over backwards for exposure and the opportunity to be heard. Problem is no one cares except you and 6 other donks that post here regularly.
I remember when XM tried to pawn off o n a as a "premium" channel, they failed miserably. No one will pay for that crap however people will pay for Stern.
Funny no one really cares if you can get the virus yet people are upset because you can't get Stern.
This is why the virus is a tribute channel to the "dead" and/or dying and by that I mean their career(s).
People will pay for Stern? Is that why they had to slash the "Best of Sirius" package to half price and still no one wanted it? Did the free promotion really make a difference? Do you realize that Howie is on his SECOND vacation since they offered the free week? I can't believe you idiots, still worshiping at the feet of the King of All Reruns. Wake up, fools...it's over.
So dead shows get resigned by Mel? How do you explain that? Mel resigns them for 6 fans? What happens when Sterns contract is up? Sat rad is a messan Stern didn't revolutionize shit except working 4 days a week and 40 weeks a year.
Well tell me how the o n a "premium" payment plan worked out?
o n a were resigned for how much? Mel felt sorry for them. Is Clear Channel paying for half or more of their salary? If they weren't resigned what would happen to them? Where would they go? they've blown every other opportunity they were handed. Mel was alos able to eliminate the janitorial staff as they'll be taking care of those duties.
So Stern can't take a vacation? He may take a few more vacations than others but there are many more stations to listen to. It's not just 100 & 101 on Sirius. You need to get over it.
He's paid his dues and you wankers and the talentless power twin hacks are jealous because you have to work more then him? Waaah! Put a tampon in it you bitches. Get some skills and work a little harder.
o n a have to work twice as hard and twice as much because they have 1/2 the talent (and I'm being generous) and need to keep their pathetic names and show be out there so they don't fall deeper into obscurity. I believe they're Amish and should change their names Opadiah and Ebeneezer.
Hoo Hoo just mailed it in during the week of free promotion.
Way to tote the company line Howard.
I'm on vacation for the next two weeks, whats wrong with that? Do you take vacation? I suppose its a tough decision when to use that week. You are a typical broadcasting school failure. Always upset about those who prosper in their careers. I am pretty sure the broadcasting school warned you about the imminent failure that would plague your future. Howard Stern is fifty five years old, he's generated billions of ad rev, he has a huge fan base regardless of how you spin it and quite frankly, he can make his own deals, unlike any of you losers. And yes people will pay for Stern, he helped shut down that awful xm. Isnt that proof enough for you? BTW they reduced the "best of" prices for both services, and about 750'000 xm'ers signed up.LOL You just cant stand the fact that dumb and dumber will never have the career Howard has, had or will ever have! His "reruns" get better ratings that live shows of dumb and dumber!! So funny. Give it up. Go whine somewhere else.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I thought the Michael Jackson tributes were weak! I heard the Chris Cornell version of billie jean more than I heard Micheals! I think they were denied MJ's library in a recent attempt to offer a dedicated channel to him. Stern had mentioned it in a recent interview, stating, "I was in a recent meeting mith MJ, he was offered alot of money and he turned it down." Stern never said anything about a dedicated channel, I am assuming this was the offer. I am running on my memory, I cant remember the person he was interviewing or the date, but it was this year in the last few months.
Vacation? Is that what we are calling 4 day work weeks now? Is that what we call taking a month off at a time? It must be exhausting drudging into the studio for those 4 days, those grueling 6 hour shifts must be wrecking havoc on the old Jew.
If I'm not mistaken the "premium" idea was XM's way to ensure that listeners that were listening were ones who wanted to hear such content and not pull the "I'm offended" line. O and A hated the premium idea from the start, the "premium" was dropped, and they became the most listened to station on XM(as verified by Eric Logan).
Mel resigned them because he felt bad? Right, because that's good business sense. You're really reaching dude.
Explain to me the whole "revolution" his coming to Sirius was. Where is the revolution? Sirius stock is under 50 cents, I thought he was to bring satrad to the next level? What happened?
I will give Stern credit for one thing, he knew when to get out of regular radio. The station in my town doesn't even have DJs, who saw that coming?
Sounds like you're bitter, jealous and a racist.
o n a listenership still pales in comparison to Stern. Look at the numbers after Stern's announcement and the start of his show and then compare them to the virus. There is no comparison, Stern has done far more for satrad than your buddies.
They also hated the premium idea because they knew no one would listen to them, forget about paying for that crap show.
You can not blame Stern for the stock prices, unless you're an o n a worshipper so I guess it's OK for you. You seem to be oblivious to the cause of why the stock prices tanked. Crack a book junior, don't just use it for your stash.
Stern left radio and the power twins were going to change radio. Ahem, what happened? I suppose their failure wasn't their fault it was someone else who ruined them and caused their ratings to be pathetic. You guys seem to live to bitch and complain and always whine about getting the short end of the stick, maybe you do because your lame and talentless like the idiots you worship.
The top listened to channel on xm is top 20 on 20. I dont know who eric logan is, nor do I give a fuck, but the ratings show channel 20 in the top slot for xm.
http://www.orbitcast.com/archives/arbitron-ratings-for-satellite-radio.html
Oh I'm sure the o n a bitches will tell you those numbers are skewed in some way. Like o n a were on vacation or they were playing a best of at the time.
o n a "best of" now there's an oxymoron
Just look at it this way.
Your boy is on vacation until July 13th. He comes back, he works four days a week, then he takes the ENTIRE MONTH of August off.
So, between now and Labor Day, Mr. Vacation is doing TWELVE SHOWS. Revolution, anyone? Anyone?
He works maybe 5 hours a day, that's 20 hours a week, at best. His show prep is done by his minions. He shows up, he reads the jokes Fred wrote for him, he talks about his dogs, and he goes home. This is worth 250 million dollars? It's the con job of the century. He's stealing money from the company.
Enjoy the tapes, fools. You're going to be hearing lots of them. Not that you'd know the difference, anyway. I can't wait until 2011, when SiriusXM can finally shake loose of this waste of bandwidth. And they can boot Mel's ass out with him. Good riddance.
And the problem is? There are other stations to listen to. Does your sirius radio only have 2 channels? I know both of your presets are 100 and 101. You just can't seem to get over it.
When did you work in his studio or on his staff? Is your statement fact, opinion or yet another one of your delusions.
In the 20 or so hours he's on, it's a far better show than anything else on the air. It even surpasses the great o n a who can't seem to find their way out of obscurity despite all these great opportunities.
Why don't o n a step it up and make their show the one to listen to, I'm sure they can use more than the 100k listeners they have.
They seem to spend too much time focusing on what everyone else is doing and not enough on what they're doing.
You seem to bitch about Stern a little too much. Your obsession is probably costing you your promotion to lettuce shredder.
Get over it and get a life chump.
Sorry, haven't listened to more than a few minutes of Stern in years. Not that the show has changed any...change takes emotional growth, and Howard couldn't do that.
My problem with Howard isn't his taking time off. I don't care if he takes time off, I don't listen to his show. I'm just shocked that his idiot fans aren't outraged that he won't give them a full-time show. Fans like my name-stealing anonymous coward friend are perfectly content to be ripped off by an FM radio hack who would rather play repackaged reruns than give them a new show. He doesn't care about his show, or his audience, and anyone who listens to him deserves what they get...bad radio.
As for 100 and 101 being on my presets, they're not. I have two XM units and wouldn't take the "Best of Sirius" package if they gave it to me free because it's false advertising. Howard Stern is the best you have? Then you have nothing.
Say what you want about O&A. When I listen to them, they make me laugh. Howard Stern does not, and never has. I'm fairly sure I'm not in his target audience because I have a measurable IQ. Fart jokes and fake phone pranks may be funny when you're 10...but a lot of the Stern supporters here seem to made a life out of them.
Enjoy the reruns, bitches. Let me know when Stern returns from vacation and announces Michael Jackson's death...18 days after it happened.
