SIRIUS & XM - rivals or friends?

XM vs SIRIUS Satellite RadioThat’s the question an article in the LA Times is asking in a very interesting read. While each service is obviously doing their best to grab the attention of potential satellite radio subscribers, it’s hardly a situation where one would put the other out of business. Both are good services

If anything, SIRIUS and XM need each other. If one goes out of business, the other definitely loses and Terrestrial will be able to dance around singing “I told you so! nyah nyah nyah!” which is something no one wants.

No, competition is a GOOD thing. It makes both services make sure that they’re not only better than the crap you hear on AM/FM, but strive to be better than each other. In the end, the consumer wins - and that’s what we all want.

Dudes, I work for Sirius and have for the better part of a year now... from everything that I can see now for both sides is that Sirius has the better programming (exept for the baseball listeners, which I'm still trying to figure out how they pulled that one off) and XM has the better gadgets and radios... by far... so simply said, if your more interested in the quality of the radio itself and different specs on them (or just love screwing around and taking expensive things apart *eye shift*), than go for XM, but if your in it for the programming and actually give a hoot what your listening to, go for Sirius, but to tell you the truth, I would rather listen to my mp3's and wma's etc...

PS: I think that Howard Stern is boring... Go George Carlin!! xD
