Sirius, XM to carry Earnhardt press conference live on Wednesday
NASCAR superstar Dale Earnhardt Jr. has called a press conference for tomorrow to make a long-anticipated announcement about which team he will drive for in 2008 and beyond.
Sirius willl air the Dale Earnhardt Jr. press conference live from the JR Motorsports shop in Mooresville, N.C. on Sirius NASCAR Radio (ch 128) at 11 am ET Wednesday.
XM will interrupt regularly scheduled programming on XM Sports Nation (ch 144) on Wednesday at 11am ET to bring live coverage of the news conference.
XM's sports anchor Claire B. Lang, who will report live from the press conference, is reporting that multiple sources have said they expect Dale Jr. to jump to Hendrick Motorsports (alongside Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson).
ESPN is also reporting that Earnhardt will make the jump to Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet in 2008. Rumors persist that NASCAR driver Kyle Busch will leave the Hendrick team.
Earnhardt is the host of the weekly XM show "Dale Jr. Unrestricted," which airs Thursdays at 7:30pm ET on XM Sports Nation.

Comments
You know, I love how there is a site devoted to Satellite news, but this is the 2nd news story that I have seen in short time where it is XM only, when Sirius will be doing the same thing.
Just like with the NHL Stanley Cup Story, Sirius will be having the Dale Jr. Press Conference obviously, since Sirius has a station devoted to Nascar. The press conference will be on Nascar's channel 128 at 11am ET.
It's like this site wants Sirius to fail, and wants XM to come out the winner if there is no merger, which as of right now there is a huge mountain to climb for the merger to be successful.

Your right, we do want Sirius to fail, thanks for pointing this story out though.
Then again, Dale JR does host a show on XM could that have any thing to do with this story or are we just over analyzing?

I was the one who submitted the story and actually told Ryan that it was on SIRIUS 128. I did, however, mention about Jr.'s show on XM, and I think that's where the confusion came in. I emailed Ryan and let him know the mistake and requested him to change it.

I doubt seriously (lol) that there is any intent to discredit Sirius. However, it would seem appropriate to at least note in each post that Sirius will, of course, air the same thing. Rest assured this press conference will be carried on Sirius' Nascar channel. I guess when you carry every Nascar race live, and devote an entire channel to 24/7 coverage of Nascar, you don't make a big deal about carrying a press conference live...

From the hundreds of emails I read everyday, I frequently get press notifications about events (scheduled or unscheduled) from both XM and Sirius. This was a notification from XM because of Dale Jr's show on XM.
I've updated it to correctly show that both Sirius and XM are covering this event.

Why does everyone complain about this shit? I'm sure XM had plenty Paris Hilton coverage but no one bitched about that??? Is Ryan supposed to fucking cross check every thing he writes so your FEELINGS dont get hurt? Jesus, you fucking people are such little whiners.
If you didnt fucking notice Orbicast is written by one guy. I dont know how he does it but he does a great job of it and I donyt think I'm the only one who appreciates that I can get all the news about satrad in one place.
"It's like this site wants Sirius to fail, and wants XM to come out the winner if there is no merger"
Fuck off. Orbitcast probably done more to promote this merger than anyone else. And you think he wants it to fail? Your a fucking idiot. HOLY SHIT YOU MADE ME SO MAD WITH THAT STATEMENT.
