SiriusConnect FMSC1 now shipping, add Sirius to any car

SiriusConnect FMSC1Directed Electronics has started shipping the SiriusConnect FM-SC1 Universal FM Interface, which allows you to connect Sirius to nearly any car stereo.

"It connects to the vehicle radio either by AUX-IN or via the FM antenna," said John Durbin, Director of Product Development for Satellite Radio at Directed Electronics.

When used with the SCC1 tuner the FM-SC1 allows the vehicle sound system to receive Sirius Satellite Radio, controlled by the devices's compact display/control unit. The FM-SC1 can also be used in conjunction with an SCVDOC1 and a Dock & Play radio in the Sportster, Starmate or Stratus families.

The FM-SC1 will be available for a suggested $129 (or $179 when sold in conjunction with the SCC1 SiriusConnect Universal Vehicle Tuner).

Good! Stop selling the radios with the weak transmitters. Aux in or through the OEM antenna connection is the way to go. Selling radios with the useless fm transmitter only leads to a bad "new customer" experience. IMO, when the FCC cracked down on the power levels, the new radios transmitters were simply too weak. This I believe is the main reason for the retail slowdown. Many new users didn't want to go through the hassle of using the seperately sold fm adapters. The easy installation was no longer possible for the average Joe. Most new cars that don't already have satrad do have an aux-in/ipod jack. This now makes for an easy install again. Those that want a cleaner install with one less wire can use the antenna adapter which plugs in the radio's anntenna jack and the antenna then plugs into it. If SiriusXM insists on selling radios with the transmitters, "THEY MUST INCLUDE THE FM ADAPTER WITH THE RADIO"! "IT SHOULD NOT BE SOLD SEPERATELY"! This way, when the customer realizes that the fm transmitter doesn't cut it, they will already have the adapter at hand.

This does not have a wireless transmitter. It has EXACTLY what you want AUX-OUT and a hard wired FM mod included. STOP COMPLAINING!!!
