Sirius-XM decision looks more and more like 2008

Sirius, XM mergerWith analysts and FCC Commissioners indicating a decision won't come until next quarter, not to mention only a few government-decision days are left until the new year, it looks more and more like we'll be on the edge of our seats into 2008.

Former FCC Chairman, and current hired gun for Sirius (of the Wiley Rein namesake), referenced this during a recent teleconference with Wall Street analysts led by Bear Stearns' Victor Miller.

"DOJ always goes first in this area," Wiley told analysts on Wednesday. "It is looking more and more like a 2008 decision."

Wiley then added, "If I had anything to say, I couldn't say it, but I don't have anything to say."

Or never thanks

Seriously Ryan enough. I can't even stand to care about this anymore. It's like the boy who cried wolf times 1000.

This whole deal is getting a little tiresome......I call for "no more news releases" until it's approved...too many "talking heads" with too little information. Just text me when it's approved please...I am going to go get my mail and shovel my sidewalk.

The very fact that this decision has exceeded even the FCC own time clock verifies the fact that we have a bunch of fat, lazy, bone heads in office.

All thats necessary to determine if Satradio competes only with itself is to do this:

get in a car, equipped with AM/FM, Satellite Radio, Ipod (plugged in) and an MP3 player plugged into the existing car stereo system, a handful of favorite CDs and a half tank of gas. Now drive.

Once you get tired of all the commercials on AM/FM, turn on Satrad - listen to whatever you want and when this grows tiresome turn to the Ipod. Once you get tired of listening to same songs on the Ipod, perhaps you have something different on the MP3 player. When this gets boring insert your favorite CD. When this get's boring, start the process all over again.

Now - all those options are available today, in most cars that are driving down the road, all within easy reach of the driver.

I'm sure that the DOJ's & FCCs caddies, benz's, beemers, navigators, all have the above 5 options preinstalled.

So why can't the DOJ and FCC decide? Because that would mean these lazy bums would actually have to lift their fat lazy asses out of their couch to get into a vehicle.

A bunch of out of touch old men in charge. You think they could 'work' an iPod? I'm guessing it doesn't matter about the competition because they can't even understand it. I've had it with old people!

when this finally happens - and I think it will, it will be soooooooo anticlimatic

UUUUUH Well,,, its December 20th..... with all the hoildays, 2 weekends and New years....

WHAT BRAIN TRUST CAME UP with... "looks like 2008? "

Are we, the American public, actually paying these guys at the DOJ and FCC? I think that as they go out the door on Wednesday afternoon they say to their co-workers;" Have a good weekend!"

This is so frustrating. How does the DOJ and FCC justify taking their time? Their are real costs incurred by both struggling companies, and it only mounts higher as this process drags on. It's been nearly a year!!!!

This is RIDICULOUS!!!!! SIMPLE RIDICULOUS!

On a related note, does anybody have a good solution for a hosted timecard system? I need something that can be locked down by IP address (so folks can't login and change time from anywhere) and doesn't cost an arm and a leg (which is why were using a free open source timeclock script ) and is simple and easy to use.
