Sirius-XM meetings with FCC heating up

The meetings between the companies and the FCC, predictively, began to increase pace after the Justice Department's approval of the merger. Prior to the DOJ's announcement there was little activity between Sirius-XM and the agency in terms of meetings, according to FCC filings.
In April, the companies collectively held a total of five meetings with the Commission - one of which was done over the phone.
In this month alone there have been three meetings held at the FCC's offices, an early indication that talks between the two are increasing frequency - and possibly nearing an end.
Yesterday, representatives from Sirius and XM met with FCC Chairman Kevin Martin, Daniel Gonzalez, Catherine Bohigian, and Elizabeth Andrion. A prior phone meeting on Tuesday, was held between XM Satellite Radio (sans Sirius) and Amy Blankenship, Legal Advisor in Commissioner Tate's office. Last week, Sirius and XM met with Chairman Martin.
None of the recent filings have given any additional details other than that the companies have reiterated their positions and "urged prompt approval of the pending merger."

Mel himself should raise hell at the FCC rather than sending "representatives" (aka lobbyists).
The words "nearing the end" have been used for the past many months, and at this point, I'll believe it when it actually happens.

I am going to do everyone a favor and sell my XM and SIRI stock that I have owned for six years because as soon as I do (sell my stock) the merger will surely be appoved.

Kevin is scared of the blacks, oh I mean the minorities. The mexicans that actually work are too busy to be playing the race card. Jesse, God is watching. And how do you sleep at night.

Wouldn't it be wonderful growing up black, knowing that Jesse Jackson is your role model??....On the other hand, they don't have much to pick from...

Mel stop letting them all push you and us around and tell martin that you are going to do what the FCC demanded and that is deploy the dual Radio.
To hell with saving XM turn all those millions of XM radios into Sirius ones for those that want them.
Mel just so you know if it is not done there will be a Lawsuit from Shareholders.
Shareholders had every reason to expect those radios. It will not be Sirius that Killed XM it will be the FCC Mandate that did it.
Mel you can and should play that card and it will be Martins fault you cannot be faulted for doing what is right and must be done for Sirius.
I full well understand the reason's for not wanting to kill XM but this has gone far enough with the game Martin is playing. It is now putting a hurt on Sirius and your foremost job is doing what is right for Sirius.
Martin grow up and act like a Man you are in trouble for many things and you are going to have to answer for the wrongdoings. That Internet over power lines what was that? Years ago we had a FCC that could be looked up to they would have laughed at HD on AM but you approved it and at nigikeht no less. What little AM i and millions like me HAD IS NOW SO MUCH LESS BECAUSE OF THE JAMMING of stations caused by HD.
NAB you had better support this Merger because if all the leaches that want a chunck of it put on free radio you are hurting your member stations.
What the FCC needs is people that understand how things like HD work so that we do not have to live with flawed things like HD Radio and powerlines used for the internet that in turn jam radio.
Does Martin have it in for Sat Radio? He approves HD AM and Internet on powerlines that jam Radio but when it came to the Sat Radio Modulators he jumped on it almost overnight.
Did he do the same for all the other Modulators being used for DVD to play through Car Radios?
I need to stop because all my next words will be 4 letter ones if i do not stop.
