Slacker Portable delayed

This almost comes as a surprise, but it was so down to the wire for the folks at Slacker that I wasn't holding my breathe.
According to Engadget, people who pre-ordered the Slacker Portable just received notification that the device will be delayed from its original ship date.
The original official ship date was December 13th, but now that's been bumped up to January 31st, 2008.
Slacker's reason is "in order to deliver the best possible player," which is marketing lingo for "oopsie, we found a boo-boo and need to fix it." Either version is good enough reason to wait another few weeks in my book.

Ryan ... you missed one scenario.... "Hey lets get this out for the Holiday season, Take pre orders. then delay till the atainable ship date"...... Don't tell me that Never happens. I run a Biz too where shipping by December 31st is a must, Even if its not a complete unit so the customer can receive it and pay the bill from their 2007 year end budget. How different is that from retail where you have the Holidays?
