Alt Nation is giving Sirius subscribers an all-access pass to the Smashing Pumpkins with a full day of programming dedicated to the band.
Tune in all day today to hear Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlain play all the songs from their brand new CD "Zeitgeist" and tell stories about each one of them, as well as talk about their recent reunion.
The programming kicked all today at 3am and will run throughout the day on Sirius' home for the latest alternative rock, Alt Nation (ch 21).
They're back together? I thought they hated each other. Oh well, I might listen. They put out some good music in the past...
it's not the original line-up. It's just Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlain with two other people. The original bassist is off doing I don't know and last I saw of James Iha he was touring/ recording as a member of A Perfect Circle
if i were siri or xm i would have stayed as far away from this band as possible. for an industry trying to stay hip and current bands like this are the definition of irrelevant.....maybe kurt cobain was a genius after all?

And I'm willing to bet the Pumpkins still have a sizable following...

The reason I sub to XM is that they play everything. Even stuff I do not listen to. If you want a lawyer or a focus group to decide what's relevant for you, go listen to some pre-packaged FM/MTV garbage.

Irrelevant? What planet are you on? Billy Corgan was THE songwriter of the 90's, whether you loved his style of music or not.
I wish that all the originals were back together however.
The pumpkins rocked harder than any band from thar era except maybe for Alice In Chains. Nirvana is so over rated.
I absolutely agree. Nirvana was over rated or was it overplayed. Either way I grew tired of them quickly. I do however like what Dave Grole (sp?) has turned into.
It is funny to see and hear the local stations talking about ticket raids all while hearing the band on XM and Sirius. Sorry I missed the performances.
Billy really is a "Small Wonder" :)
