Stern is also doing a Top 250 Bits" Show.

"Stern is also doing a Top 250 Bits" Show."

Has that been confirmed? I know they were tossing alot of ideas around...

"Has that been confirmed?"

They're still working on it. Considering the short amount of time they have, I doubt that they'll be able to pull it off.

yeah its not a definite yet, but hey, they surprised me with the online working when they said it would.

The online streaming was different because Sirius had about six months to assess and test the technical requirements needed for audio streaming with a large number of simultaneous users.

For the tapes situation, the staff has less than two weeks to sift through 20 years worth of content and decide how they choose the top 250 bits (do you go with an established list off of Stern Fan Network, do you create a user poll on the Howard Stern website, or does the staff decide for themselves?). If they have people work 24/7, they might be able to do it.

hey im not greedy i can live with top 100 bits

We'll see cowdisease. You're right that it'll take a minor miracle but I'd hope even though they don't have a full staff working on it, they would've had someone working on them for the last 2 weeks.

If they use a SFN list, its relatively(in theory) a piece of cake. Its as easy as going to Marksfriggin.com and cut and pasting the bits. If they want new data, it'll be much harder. Plus, I think they have an idea of the top 20-30 bits already. The other 220-230 are pretty much just fill-ins.

Personally, now that its streaming, I can hear the entire show by 2pm everyday so having the old shows are going to come in handy for me.

If they focused on a certain range of years or something they could probably do it with relative ease.

I don't know if they have all the tapes in the computer yet or not, that'd be the hard part.
