With XM Satellite Radio being a sponsor of Danica Patrick and her new Andretti Green Racing Indy car, the grand unveiling to the media took place in Chicago.

No, nobody watches IRL do they.
She's married now. Contrary to popular belief, the IRL is popular. Not bigger than Nascar but then again it costs much more to do things in Nascar. Afterall Nascar whored the money($120 million?) out of Sirius, while XM only had to pay a few million for 5 years.
O yeah, and I believe this is XM's second sponsorship in IRL. Bryan Herta is the Official XM car(XM owns the team, not just sponsorship) in the IRL. He is currently ranked 11th in the standings and Danica is ranked 9th. No matter how you look at this deal, it's good for exposure. Danica is bringing attention to the IRL and having XM on the side is great exposure for XM.
I think this is cool, but if you have to tell someone that something is popular, then it's not.
IRL has a fan base problem. It is not widley followed like any of the other sports (NASCAR, NFL, MLB, or even NHL).
I think XM really dropped the ball in letting NASCAR go. they could have been THE Auto Sports SatRad, but instead they are not.
Fact is, no matter how nice this is, the listeners and the sponsors prefer NASCAR over IRL, period.

So why is it that when a woman driver throwes her helmet its a tissy fit and when a guy does it he is just pissed off and blowing off some steam. She was put out of the race not from her own doing and she got pissed nothing more. Come to grips with your sexuality and you might be able to get over these things.
