Sirius XM Radio's The Loft channel will air a special tribute in honor of the life and musical career of singer/songwriter Kenny Rankin, who passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the age of 69 after a battle with lung cancer.
Sirius XM Radio will rebroadcast Rankin's "Loft Session" on The Loft (Sirius channel 29 and XM channel 50). During the session, Sirius XM listeners will hear Rankin's many reinterpretations of classic songs, featuring outstanding versions of classics by The Beatles including, "Penny Lane" and "Blackbird."
The Loft Session was recorded live in Sirius XM's studio in front of an audience. Encore broadcasts of Kenny Rankin's intimate live session on The Loft will air on Saturday June 13th at 6pm; Sunday, June 14th at 9am; Monday, June 15th at 10pm; and Wednesday, June 17th at 6pm (all times Eastern).
