The Orbies

The first-annual Orbitcast Awards (aka, the "Orbies") is now open for voting. Your nominations have been submitted and now it's time to put them to the vote.

By far the categories with the most individual nominees are The Best Kept Secret on Satellite Radio and The Best Music DJ.

Best Music Show, Best "Go To" Channel, and of course Best Comedy Talk Show (complete with everyone's favorite smattering of shock-jocks) also received their own fair share of attention during the nomination phase. So make sure to cast your votes soon before they close.

Voting closes on Saturday, February 9th.

Remember, this is a 100% "People's Voice" award, which is completely driven by your nominations and your votes. Satellite radio deserves its own award to give the talent behind Sirius' and XM's mics the recognition they deserve.

So cast your vote today!

Howard Stern

XM's "John Anthony" of Highway 16

The voting isn't here, you have to go to the forums and register, if you aren't already, and then vote in the polls.

I am protesting the Orbies! With the broad categories, the TRUE comedians and TRUE comedy shows get ignored for the likes of Opie and Anthony, Howard Stern, and Bubba.

Comedians like Frank Caliendo, Lewis Black, and Chris Rock are the true comedians, not some shock jocks.

DOWN WITH THE ORBIES!!

hes a funny man(although i do agree that its a total farce that 0.0 are in a "comedy" poll...can we nominate a new one?Biggest unfunny total fuckups on sattelite? 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.0..rock the vote!)

one more nomination:#1 in our NYC demo but cannot provide a link to back this claim up after we've done "ALOT" of research:

The Orbitcast Awards are very biased. For every category urban shows and stations are left out. Even for the comedy award/category jamie foxx is left out.

Stern has a forum. Too bad the people listening to stern still use dial up. As well as go to bed by 7 so they can be up by 6.

@ shade4five
All you had to do was nominate someone. If you failed to do so that is the only reason why nothing has been "nominated". This entire nomination process was by the people, for the people. Urban Nominations are on 3 polls that I'm aware of. Subsoniq for both "Best Kept Secret" & "Best Music Show", as well as KB from The Rhyme for "Best Music DJ". If your not familiar I suggest you do a Google search, your missing out.

"WAKE-UP SHAKE-UPS: Adam Carolla, anointed by CBS Radio to be Howard Stern's replacement in major markets after Stern's move to Sirius satellite, is no longer heard in the Bay Area. He'd been on KIFR (Free FM at 106.9) until CBS ditched the rowdy-talk format last June for lack of ratings, replacing it with the return of KFRC. Because Carolla's contract called for him to have an affiliate in San Francisco, CBS moved him - and other talk shows - to KYCY (1550 AM). That is, until Dec. 31, when the deal expired. Carolla carries on in Los Angeles and a couple of other markets (CBS also dropped Free FM in New York and Philadelphia), but not here. "We just can't afford him," said Stephen Page, program director at KYCY. And, he added, it'll be the same story with Opie and Anthony when their contract runs out at the end of March. KYCY (also known as KYOU Radio for the podcasts it features, on weekends) is aiming to be an "all-money" format, Page said, with financial advice programming."

For those complaining you did have a chaence to nominate the group, person, tc to be included in the Orbitcast awards. That time for nominations has come and passed and now you must vote for the ones nominated by members here.

Make it easier for yourself by registering in the Orbitcast forums if you haven't yet and you'll be able to stay up to date on everything.

And of course registering is free and allows you to become a more involved member/visitor here at Orbitcast.

Yeah, wtf what a bunch of morons. If you don't like the shows/people that are nominated, why didn't YOU do something???

Ryan opened it up in late DECEMBER

To the above poster asking for a link showing that O&A are #1 in NY for men 18-49 (their demo)

I'm no pest, but I have seen a link here before, so I went and found it. This is a quote in a quartly conference call from Les Moonves, chairman of CBS. h/t to fellow Orbitcaster, Mike T.
After only five months on the air, Opie & Anthony are a force to be reckoned with during the morning drive. According to newly released summer ratings, they are number one in men aged 18 to 49 in New York City, up 150% since their arrival.
Link here (and even in blue!) http://seekingalpha.com/article/19779-cbs-q3-2006-earnings-call-transcript?page=3

Now, admitedly, there aren't any actual numbers, but Mr. Moonves knows he can be held to this statement by the SEC, so it's certainly true.

way to go fact finder! interesting that link and story is from November 02, 2006!

A+ for effort, but you fail...now back to the spin cycle and see if you can find ANYTHING saying 0.0 are #1 in NY in there "demo" for the last ratings period(Fall 07)

good luck in finding something, the sheep "pests" can't seem to provide a link, even though they "do lots of research and know for sure" that there favorite morning zoo are blazing the FM dial

Depending on the business process in which the Employee Time is used or processed, it contains information for use in Controlling, for confirmations for projects or orders, invoicing, payroll, and to determine availability.
